Top Gear: Series 19

All this has made me want to do is buy a cheap estate car and go driving all over the place with a bed in the back.

Do we think they put special tyres on them? My 850 gets hopelessly stuck at the mere sight of some mud, wouldn't move at all in those conditions....
I was thinking this of my e39. A little snow and a slight hill equals very little traction. I imagine very wet mud to be similar.

This.

I'd been watching a documentary about the Zambezi this afternoon and was thinking about the challenge of driving to the source of a big river like the Zambezi or Nile. Then TG is exactly that

Newage Impreza WRX estate for £1500? Yeah right.

I am very surprised no one thought of the obvious and got a Audi Avant Quattro of some sort. It was a fantastic episode to watch but normally they are kind of even on car choices but Hammond got by far the best car there.

Was a great part 1 or 2 episode last night, Hammond deffo has the right car for the terrain although I was actually surprised you could pick up a WRX wagon for such little money!

I don't know where they pick them up from, I've yet to find a £1,500 WRX imprezza for sub £2k never mind £1.5k

They were all in mint condition too considering their mileage, alloys looked impeccable, paintwork impeccable (bar the blistering on the scooby bonnet).

And they have managed to travel around many countries in Africa across some horrible terrain and nothing has broke so far (apart from bodywork, and a few electrical faults on the beemer)...

Best car for the job sure but hardly best car there :p

Loved this episode, wont lie looked on the trader for a scooby. Didnt find any less than 2k though :(

coincidentally an impreza and e39 are in my stable at the moment!
My cars are top gear famous.

My actual car has been on Top Gear, I win ;)

Thought the mod's were stupid, but the scenery was lovely, as was the camera work as normal, apart from the animals!

Part 1 was great, I found it interesting seeing the city they visited and the terrain, and those speed bumps are more like speed hills. Looking forward to part 2.

So for my next car I was thinking of an S2000 and an impreza as a backup choice if I couldn't find a suitable S within reasonable distance...but no I've watched this I'm having to fight back the impreza urge even though I rarely frequent a dusty road nevermind a dirt track with holes and small lakes on it.

Damn the man logic! :p

Exactly - the Scorpio is :p

I noticed it's a Ghia but has the Ultima alloys on it - wonder if it's got the Cosworth engine? I'll have to look at the wing badges - 24v is the Cosworth (could also be a 2.3 or 2.0 as it's the facelift edition).

The Impreza Wagons are tough! The only downside is the size of their boot, but the seats fold so it does give some more space. Very solid cars and easy to drive, the 4wd is awesome. I would purchase one again, a turbo model this time. It would have to be standard though, the noise from my previous one was unbearable on long journeys.
