*** The 2013 Gym Rats Thread ***

I'm asking if it's okay for me to do morning cardio, in the form of skipping while still on my CBL prep phase, after I have my morning coffee. Also if it's okay on normal CBL days there after.

I should think so as during the prep phase you're trying to use up all glycogen.

Don't see why it wouldn't be okay on CBL day mornings either, dependent upon your goals.

(disclaimer - may be misinformed)

The author is not a fan of cardio and prefers barbell complexes and HIIT, I can't do those though, so I'm hoping learning skipping won't be too bad.

Why do you need to do morning cardio? I believe Syla5 did some HITT during his training to speed up the prep phase. Normally it's fine to just stick to the prep phase outlined in the book.

I need to do some form of cardio, hate not being able for it. Also as pointed out to my normal Whey can cause insulin/stop fat burning and it's all I have until my MP order finally arrives.

Why would you cardio?? Hiit if anything at all.

I did hiit as lie said along side my normal training to cut prep to 6 days :)

I also use normal whey and am not turning in to a fatty fat fat. 9 weeks in and still 2.5lb lighter then before prep phase, eating circa 2.7k cals per day.pre CBL I was on 2.2k gaining 1lb a week.

I'm extremely limited after my spinal surgery, and damaged nerves.

I use to swear by barbbell complexes for HIIT in the mornings before breakfast.

Could you not try and smash out some intervals with skipping? Might struggle to reach the level of intensity required to be classed as HIIT but the next best thing surely?

Well considering i get winded after 3-4 flights of stairs I get up there super quickly, skipping feels awesome and tiring at the same time. Despite me hitting my feet a lot still.

Do what you can nightmare really, if skipping works for you then fair enough. Id like to add in some skipping or something really, hate not having CV fitness

Tell me about, I use to have CV fitness and my strength. Now I have neither.

I've got some blood tests tomorrow morning, so no coffee or anything before that. The next day is skipping for me again.
