*** The Official Google Nexus 7 Thread ***

I got the usb to go cable working with stick mount and a microsd card reader and 32gb microsd card. I bought a 64gb but didn't realize it was sdxc and i need a new reader. Only cost £2 though. But can't find any smaller ones like i have.

I am not that impressed with the audio performance in the nexus 7. I only play flac files in vlc and by comparison I have been using a sansa clip 8gb for 3 years. So probably not a fair comparison but in terms of audio quality i find it fairly weak. I would prefer if they didn't go cheap on a sound device. But at the low price point i guess that is what they have done. I am not sure if it is android in general or the hardware as i have not had much experience with android. It is not terrible but I hope the next version improves on it. I think it can be overlooked to some extent.
 
About to order one of these but (and sorry to ask the question that has probably been asked many times before), what are the recommended cases for around home (child-proof) and regular flip-cover style please?

Even though nobody likes them i love my official nexus case, the poetic seems to be well liked :)
 
Got my cheque from the cash back offer that was running before xmas, was sure it was advertised as £20 on the nexus 7, cheque came through at £30 though :)
 
Just bit the bullet and 'bought' my first App...

I'm usually terrible when it comes to paying for things like this, both my Nex4 and Nex7 are full of free/add supported apps.

But after recommendations from you guys, and the fact that 'Lookout' was throwing a wobbler on my Nex4...

I parted with £2.55 for a lifetime sub to Cerberus!! and as both my babies are Rooted I get a little more control and a few more toys!!

Didn't even bother with the 7 day trial... I just installed and bought a licence!

for childproofing id say go for gumdrop, we got our nexus in on and with 2 boys who fight a lot it has taken a a beating yet our nexus is minta in side. and the rubber has not even worn a bit at all.

Why not Avast, which is free?
 
Got my replacement nexus 7 last week.

Have to say after the trouble we went though at xmas in getting ours delivered the service was pretty darn good.

I also got to say the quality of this device seems a lot better. Screen and over all feel of it.
 
The Ability to take a photo via the front camera (or back if it's face down) of the scally who's nicked your phone! plus a few other toys Avast doesn't do!! :)

Plus I've had Loads of recommendations for Cerberus, and you'r the first to mention Avast!! ;)
 
The question now, do I upgrade from the 16gig to the 32gig 3g or do I wait for a possible upgrade....

I got the dock the other day, it is fantasticaly well built, much heavier than I thought it would be, and imo at the perfect angle

I've read good things about the proposed replacement of the N7, IMHO I now think that 3g is redundant on a tab, presuming you have a phone which can tether, I forked out on 2 3g Sammy 7.7's for my kids but the 3g just isn't necessary.
 
Anyone finding their battery isn't charging to 100%? It seems to randomly stop charging between 60-90% since the 4.2.2 update ... only once has it going to 100% and that was after discharging the battery to 1%

Pretty annoying!
