Another good job at making people spend money ;)

Do you want any tyre shine? Black plastic trim restorer?

Hehe, to be fair I'm not too fussed on price as they do last quite a while.

Humm yea, I did have back to black tyre spray so yea any suggestions on that front? And I probably could do with some trim restorer!

More money!

This is how my basket is looking:

Bilt Hamber - Auto Clay Regular (200g)
600ml Plastic Bottle with Sprayer ( to spray water for above)
Huge 38" x 28" Microfibre Drying Towel
Collinite 476S - Super Doublecoat Auto Wax
Foam Wax Applicator
Ultimate Ultra-Plush Buffing Cloth 16" x 16"

Can anyone think of anything else I would need? I already have a wash mitt and AG Body shampoo and AG Super resin polish.

Did your kit arrive mate?

Anyone here use snowfoam with just a hose and no pressure washer?

Would like to try snowfoaming before I wash the car, but don't want to buy a new PW - especially as I can only wash the car at the parents house. I've heard of a couple of products that can be used with hoses (albeit, not as thick as a foam lance), anyone here have any experience of them?

Snow Foaming is poor with a lance and pressure washer so without these it would be next to useless.
Honestly I've been there and done it save your time and money and just use the 2BM.

(I do know the purpose of snow foam and if you want to add a load of hassle, an extra half hour and waste of money washing your car your so you have slightly less dirt to wash off when progressing to the 2BM then fair enough. I believe it's quite an entertaining thing to do and also a gimmick to impress the neighbours).

Fair enough.

I might continue with my current method then, which is drive to the local jetwash and give the car a thorough going over with the hot foam/high pressure rinse to get the worst off, then carrying onto the parents place to wash properly. They do have a pressure washer, but it's a cheap and nasty B&Q job, so I rarely bother with it.

Washed mine yesterday, was spotless until I woke up to condensation and water spots all over the car. Just been out to QD it off and so it's all nice again. :o

If you use an acid based wheel cleaner usually cleans even filthy wheels in a couple of hits. Sometimes a few hits of fallout remover too should help. Not saying couldn't use a cleaner like that but would have thought it would be better and easier to use proper products.

Thanks for the reply, Greboth. I get what you're saying, but they charge a premium for things which aren't necessarily as good, and my alloys aren't that nice :P Thanks again

Clarkey, did it work well or not? Mine aren't particularly dirty, but I would like to get them cleaned up.

Such a shame that it rained today! Half wasted all that cleaning I did.

Just showing off my handiwork, spent 8 hours detailing the 1275GT. Can anyone recommend a good wax to protect my paint? I don't want it fading in the sun or getting swirls.

You can stay :D

BTW, anyone still not bought a decent pressure washer then The Range have stock again of the Nilfisk range, the current ones come with the patio rotating brush and so on now.

I agree with you in some respect but do think on occasion it is worth paying for a dedicated product. Define particularly dirty? if they aren't that bad then you might be able to get away with some all purpose cleaner which you can pick up from tesco/asda cheap. I don't know how well cillit bang would deal with brake dust so you might need a fallout remover. Fallout remover is expensive for the bleeding type but I just bought 5 litres of AS Fallout for £11 from my local rep, it doesn't bleed but at 1/5th the price I can deal with it.

I would give that another clay barring tbh and then a good polish looks to be fading to me.

I keep thinking about it, but my now 20 year old Karcher refuses to die.

Spent the weekend giving the new car a good polishing to remove the light scratching and swirling that seemed to litter the car (delivered with 30 miles on the clock). Didn't need much so only used a filler polish (SRP), and then another going over with Sonus SFX-3 final stage/glaze. Prewashed using Valet Pro PH Neutral Snow Foam, then washed properly using Zymol Natural Shampoo. Sealed with Autoglym EGP, then two coats of Poorboy's Natty's Blue Paste Wax. Wheels were given two coats of Autoglym Alloy Wheel Seal, then tyres dressed with Meguires Endurance Tyre Gel.

Questions, incoming.

I can't see it on the website?

What's the model number dude? Does it come with a snow foam lance?

Don't know about the website but it's definitely in store as I walked past the setup last week :p

The Nilfisk does come with a foam lance bit but it's a bit crap, better off buying a proper one!

Para, Karcher don't make them like they used to it seems.
