Couch stretch.

Ah don't you dare! :D

I can't even get into the right position to perform that stretch. When I put my leg against a wall/on a sofa, and then try to put my other leg in position, my quad feels like it's about to snap.

In general, I put most of the useful lower body stretches in my squatting guide.

Ah yeah, another visit to said guide is in order :)

its not. Im not saying a workout CANT be interesting, im saying if it HAS to be interesting then your in it for the wrong reasons and will fail.

Morning grumpiness. Sorry bro.

But yeah your totally right, though if you find it boring and only doing it as a hobby. Change what your doing, to suit yourself. No point getting all worked up about it.

Would it not be more apt to say that the program in question isn't for him, rather than weight training as a whole?

potentially, but i prefer to make snap judgements based on implied attitudes. Overt negativity towards training plans in newbies is a sure sign of a weak mental attitude. In fact almost any negativity at all denotes high chance of failure over the long term. I attempt not to waste too much time on such people as you are just flogging a dead horse tbh

Lol, how ridiculous. He only said 'it's quite a boring workout frankly'. Quick, condemn him to hell! He clearly doesn't lift, brb going to squat some more with a superior form hurrr.

Decent Leg & Shoulder session today. Gym was pretty much empty apart from the dedicated few who were training properly, found it very motivating.

Squats:

60kg - warmup
100kg - warmup
140kg - warmup
165kg x 3
170kg x 3
180kg x2 - PB :)

Front Squats:
102.5 x 5
102.5 x 5

Standing Military Press:
40kg - warmup
70kg - warmup
82.5kg x 3
85kg x 3
85kg x 3

Seated Dumbbell Press:

26kg - warmup
40kg - warmup
52kg x 5
54kg x 5

Lateral Raises:

12kg db x 8
12kg db x 8
12kg db x 8

Was happy with the way the lifts went. Didn't go for masses of volume just getting some heavy sets in.

Today was the first time I've done seated db shoulder press in over 8 months due to having some crippling rotator cuff problems last year. Found it difficult and I think the only reason I was able to pick up where I left up is that my bench and military press have gone up a fair bit so have helped.

Right, I've earned a decent BBQ in the sun!

Heh...If you saw UE's squat you wouldn't be saying that ;)

<3

do you lot do standing mil presses with olympic bar or the smaller one?

i always do it with olympic due to the fact that its just there after/before my squats.. so i don't have to go around hunting for one.

I hardly ever see anyone doing standing OHP in my gym, no idea why ???

It is pretty much a weekly exercise for me and make me feel a bit out of place as it isn't commonplace.
