Andrey Arshavin, Denilson and Sebastien Squillaci all leaving Arsenal.

Such a shame really wanted to see Denilson back in the PL.

Denilson is just hilarious, its classic Arsenal bad player yet still wins a cup stuff that you almost couldn't write.

Denílson was sent off twice in his first three matches, with the latter of the red cards coming after he swore at a referee. Denílson then received a number of angry messages through Twitter. Denílson then branded the fans who moaned about then-head coach of São Paulo Adílson Batista as 'very, very annoying'. Denílson then claimed that he did not mean his comments in a negative way. This was followed by a row which ensued to such an extent that the supporters demanded that Denílson never to play for São Paulo again.

On 6 October, he scored a long range goal Golazo for São Paulo FC against Palmeiras.[19] Then on 13 December, he won the Copa Sudamericana 2012 after Tigre refused to play the second half in the second leg of the match. This resulted them the trophy and of course the winner of the competition. It was the first trophy he won since leaving Arsenal for loan.

So bad the fans demanded he never play again, sent off twice in his first three games, and then in his second season STILL wins a ruddy cup, albeit in ridiculous circumstances. This was that game where the what, police beat a couple of the away team players who then refused to come out and play, handing them the cup win.... lol. Even Denilson has now won a cup, almost everyone who leaves Arsenal seems to win cups, leagues, something, just not Arsenal. Song wins a title in his first year(despite being dire and heavily criticised), its just becoming a long running joke.

I still can't believe Arshavin's situation, people are calling Cazorla brilliant for a 12 goal 12 assist season, Nasri moved for over 20mil for a 11 goal 1 assist season, Arshavin played out of position, less centrally and starting significantly less games(Santi started 37 games in the league, Arshavin 25) got 10 goals 18 assists in his last full season, but was being treated differently by the end of the season and barely featured in the past two seasons. He was and is a fantastic player, he was brilliant for Russia in the last competition in all but the final 20 mins of the final game, which Russia/coach decided to blame the tired Arshavin for despite being clearly their best player up to the final 20 mins, while their strikers missed chance after chance after chance.

Maybe he isn't likeable, maybe he's a ****, but you win titles with ****'s in the team, you don't win titles with nice but crap players in the team. Chamakh was perfectly decent, even pretty good while he was playing, then people bang on about not scoring in 9 months or something stupid, yeah, he started only a few games and had 5-10 min sub appearances, he was completely dropped and never played well again because he was never given the chance to... however I don't think he was genuinely good enough to start, he certain had shown he was good enough to be rotated properly and used effectively, he just wasn't.

Don't forget Denilson was genuinely quite a good player in the Fabregas mould in his first 1-2 years, then we randomly turned him into the worst defensive midfielder the league had seen, he did become dreadful and very quickly, not really sure what happened to him... the really stupid thing is AFTER he got completely awful, we still kept giving him new contracts.....

Arsenal really are becoming a joke, player turns crap, obviously more starts, first team and more wages/new contracts. Player is one of the best players in the team.... bench, ignore, let leave on a free after spending millions watching him not play.

The same way you know it's 40m. Going off what the media are saying.
More reputable places saying 25m-30m.

His wages will be very low but heavily topped up by performance bonuses. Navas has apparently signed for 45k a week.

REcently Clichy, Yaya, Aguero and so on have signed new contracts that follow a similar pattern.

Edit;
Reported fees for Fernandinho so far. Daily Mail - £22m. Sun - £25m. Mirror - £22m. Goal - £25m. Sky Sports - £34m. Guardian 30m.

There's no way he'd leave his comfort zone for less than he's on at Sevilla.

Reckon both are on at least £70-100k/week minimum. Especially with fees commanding £20-35m.

So basically the most reputable out of the sites is saying £34m? :p I'd be very surprised if it's as 'low' as £25m, as the club even said they want something as close to the release fee - why would they say that one week and then sell him for £17m less a week later? He'll be topping £30m.

Why wouldn't he?
His basic will be that as well as huge amounts for appearances, assists and goals so if he performs he will your right be topping 100k.
Better for the books.

Of course Shaktar are going to say we want 40m or he's going nowhere, they won't actively be seen to be trying to sell him!

SSN is the most reputable? Haha ok then.

Robbo, read my post I edited and changed my tune about what?

I do have to say I find it hard to believe Navas, a homesick Spaniard, would move to City, famous purely for throwing money around, from his hometown club where he has spent his entire career, for 45k a week.

I am sorry but it isn't.

I am not upset at all but saying it's 40m when it isn't is just a bit annoying. It's like me saying Chelsea paid 65m for Torres, I would be laughed at and rightly because I am accounting for wages, bonuses, media rights and everything else that goes along with any transfer.

Stewy, you would if you firstly wanted to test yourself in the premier and secondly were as I have said will be paid huge bonuses for playing etc which could end up topping 100k a week. I can't imagine he would be on near that at Sevilla

I'm not sure I'd move to Manchester for £45k/week :p

(sorry)

We're not, we are saying it is £34m

:p

But you don't know if that's the case or not, so... and who said its £40m?!

As for Navas, I bet he'll be on quite a lot more than you think as well.

Apologies it was Azza who said it was and Tom noted it as well.

Still, I don't believe it is 34m nor that Navas is on more than what I said.

Anyway, two good signings and have addressed the main problems in our team. Hope to see them quite soon in China and then in the Prem next season.

Rumors we are close to signing Diego Novaretti as well as a backup CB. Replacement for Kolo.

Yes.
BASIC wage.
Its getting boring repeating myself.

Sevilla winger Jesus Navas looking for €2.5m a year in order to commit future to the club.
That was in 2010.
I don't know if he got that but even if he did that is a wage of 48k, also bear in mind in Spain they are taxed more?

So he is offered to come to City on the same wage with the clauses in his contract potentially netting him 100k+ a week. He won't be getting that at Sevilla. Why would he turn it down?

He has reiterated his desire to win trophies and he isn't going to do that at Sevilla. None of Real or Barca seemingly wanted him so where is he going to look?

He will want to leave to go somewhere comfortable and City have a strong influx of spanish speaking players, a manager and staff who have work ed in Spain and two of the key management figures are also Spanish.
Is it really beyond the realms of possibility he signed a contract like the one I mentioned earlier?
