Replacing AV rack soon I hope with something that will hide cables better.

I dont want to start a new thread for a simple answer..........

I have an Onkyo TX-SR309 with Tannoy HTS 201 speakers and sub. Which is the best setting for the 'cross over frequency'?? At the moment its 80hz.

Ive been Googling but some say higher, ie 120kz and some say lower, 80hz. I'm a very confused person!! :(

Specs for the Satellites and Centre shows that they are 100hz-40khz. The Towers are 80hz-40khz. Sub is 50hz-200hz

If it was me, I wouldn't go below 100hz simply because your Sats and more importantly Centre speaker can't go below that. How far above 100hz you go is up to you, tune it however it sounds best in your room.

Cheers covenantuk. All these numbers are confusing - to me anyway!! :)

Ive changed the setting, put it up to 120 (for now). Too early to whack Avengers on but Ill give them a blast tonight and see.

Thanks again!!

I've got a set of HTS 101's mate, which are more or less the same for sattelites, centre and sub just two different front speakers.
Recommended setting (which I researched on various forums and use myself) is 100 - which coincides with what covenantuk recommends ;)

Sweet!

I too recently bought some R500s. Freaking love them! I was advised to get the Roksan Kandy K2 amp, instead of a normal AVR (for my needs). Certainly not disappointed with it!

They are amazing, I'd like to hear them on Roksan amplification, just spent the week driving passed Gloucester too.
