Post Your Home Cine & HiFi Kit...

yh they are from IKEA :) i think they're perfect height as well.
its part of the BESTA range but i got the wall cabinets rather than the actual tv unit in the range as the measurements suited my needs more :)

i did try putting the dvds in the other way but the bookcase is that deep it wastes to much space.

how low is your couch? or do you sit on the floor? because one of those cabinets is far too small. do you use the metal clips at the back? i had them set up but they just became a pain when adding or removing things from the setup so i just got rid of them in the end.

Have finally finished decorating so here's the finished setup with a slightly different TV....

:D u shud see what my two liccle monkeys do! I'd be happy if it was just the cupboard handle they broke :(

:)

she hasnt broke the handle luckily, i took it off to disable her access. although she has now realised she can poke a hardback book in the gap and lever it open so i might aswell put it back on.

those little creatures are so clever.

A tactfully angled screw will solve your issue!

Damn! 64" what a monster!

What's the Samsung 3D Blu-Ray player like, I have been looking at some of them but haven't decided what to go for yet. Due to the fact I'm after DNLA and the best picture quality possible for regular DVD upscaling to fall back on.

Made a few upgrades lately to the system.

Replaced the SBT with a Cyrus StreamX changed my Glasshouse passive preamp to a AS Passion passive and just got a linear psu for the M-dac all sounding very nice atm.

michell gyrodec with orbe platter - phono x + psxr - synology nas - streamX - cdxtse + psxr - audiolab m-dac with Mcru psu - AS Passion passive - sony bdp s780 bluray also into the dac - - pmc tb2+speakers - biamped with 2 Xpowers both with psxr with rel sub - dab 8 - fm 7.5

Neodude - How do you find the BDI unit?

That's the one I'm eyeing up at the moment, but I keep asking myself 'it is worth £1500?!'

I can't find any cheaper ones in the same style.

ikea?

http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/categories/departments/living_room/14885/

you can get something sort of similar for less than 20% of that tbh, £1500 for a tv unit is madness imo, i bought 2 besta benches and stacked them for £120 iirc, i also modified the spaces so I have a PS3 + Blu Rays and games in one shelf, a laser printer in another so you can get rid of them or make them bigger / smaller to fit your needs.

i didnt even spend £1500 on my tv, which is a 50" GT50B (£799 with free 5 year warranty and 2 sets of 3D glasses).

although it probably functions better you have to weigh up is the extra £1400 worth the functionality? imo no it isn't.

The unit is amazing. Huge amounts of space at the back of the equipment. Comes with straps for cable management. It just reeks quality. Not sure if it's worth 1700 (Price including the TV mount) but I'm glad I got it.

Not an expert on Blu-Ray players by any means, but it works fine for me. It's the BD-E5500, was 74 quid from Amazon. It does have DLNA but it's not something I use as the TV has it.

Sony 40" LED (also works as second monitor)
Pioneer VSX-421K reciever and basic 5.1 setup
PC running an i5 2500k, 8GB RAM, 570 GTX
Sky HD
And the headphones in the corner are Beyerdynamic DT770 Pros

TV looks like it's at a funny angle, well it is but when I'm sat on the bed watching movies it's dead centre :)

Very nice indeed! Including the cables in the wall for the TV? or is this what the cables at the bottom is from?

Also, what size is the tv? seems to look a lot bigger than 50.

Thanks. Yes, the cables are in the wall for the TV. The TV is 52" but he's trying to convince me that we need 60" :p
