If you're not paying a TV licence fee, they have a right to ask why. If you don't respond to their questions, they'll continue to do so. I don't really understand the issue.
Source? They have no legal authority. Stop pulling things out your ass.

With today’s technology, you can watch TV on more devices than ever, whenever it suits you best. This means a TV Licence doesn’t just cover you to watch TV at home on a TV set. You can also watch or record television programmes as they're being shown on TV, through all of these devices:
Computers, including laptops and tablets
Mobile phones
Games consoles
Digital boxes, e.g. Freeview, Sky, Virgin, BT Vision
DVD/VHS/Blu-ray recorders.
As long as the address where you live is licensed, you’re also covered to watch TV outside your home using any device powered solely by its own internal batteries. This includes your mobile phone, laptop and tablet.
Exception: If you only watch catch-up services online, then you don’t need a licence. For example, you don’t need one to use BBC iPlayer, or ITV player, to catch up on programmes after they have been shown on TV.
OP just ring them and tell them you don't have a TV and stop wasting their time and my money.
just because you are capable or receiving a live broad cast does not mean you are breaking any laws.
It's only if you watch live TV.
You could argue anyone with a smart phone is capable of watching live tv and there for requires a tv license when they do not.
Innocent until proven guilty in a court of law something which these letters fail to point out and just assume everyone is guilty and treats them like criminals.
I've got a Virgin box in my cupboard - I could get it out of its box and plug it in to my TV if someone came round and demanded live televisionI do not believe the amount of people that post on OCUK forums that claim to not have a live TV feed into their house. I simply do not believe it. I don't think I have ever in my life been to someones house and they not had the ability to turn on a television to a live feed. I'm trying to think of one and I can't.
and therefore have a right to take you to court to understand the situation. If the court finds that you ought to have done something to remedy the situation (ie getting back in touch) they will probably order you to pay costs.

I think the only on there that hasn't aired in the UK yet is under the dome.
There's a difference between "Don't show in the UK" and haven't been aired here yet![]()
No they don't, and no they don't, and if they do it becomes harassment. lol!
Given that you have failed to reply or get in touch with them, obviously they now think that you are not replying as you don't have a licence, and therefore have a right to take you to court to understand the situation.
So if you had sky and just recorded tv to watch later would you still need a licence ?
So what are you going to do?
Take them to court?
If you have got nothing to hide, by all means, but if that ends up incriminating you because you do watch tv, then you just shot yourself in the foot.
I honestly don't use my TV or any device in a manner that requires a licence, so it is impossible to incriminate myself, I really don't understand why people can't accept that
To be fair, no I won't take them to court, because they are not currently causing me any bother and I've got better things to do with my life..
