If you want to order today you could shop around for the board. The Asus M5A97 EVO R2.0 is a very good board, it's just no use for SLI/Crossfire.

i wont ever being using dual GPU's.

The EVO 2.0 - it's got much better support for 8320s.

The only real difference between the 970 and 990 chipsets is SLI/Crossfire support.

okay, sorry for not updating. Will be purchasing today.

This is what I have chosen.

Asus M5A97 EVO R2.0 AMD 970 (Socket AM3+) DDR3 Motherboard
AMD Piledriver FX-8 Eight Core 8320 Black Edition 3.50GHz (Socket AM3+) Processor - Retail
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo CPU Cooler

TOTAL: 236.96

I will get a new PSU and a new GPU when the new AMD ones are released later in the year. I know running a HD5770 with an 8320 is stupid but it will have to do for now.

Any thoughts on what I have picked. I will be doing some OCing, nothing huge, have no plans for sli/crossfire etc. If you change anything it has to 100% come in at £250 or less. The cooler is out of stock is my only problem.

excellent. Is it worth spending the extra £13 available on a better cooler? different board etc or wont it make any real difference

In my opinion no not really, you'd be much better off putting it towards the next parts later on.
