Watch Dogs

But it's all been done before.

Maybe I am too old for these games. Nothing excites me much these days. Only ArmA 3, DCS A1-H1 and The Last of Us, doe to the story.

Just finished watching the 15 min gameplay footage. My biggest worry is that this will become as repetitive as assassins creed. I'm no longer that excited about this game... I just have this feeling that it won't live up to expectations and that it'll take a couple of sequels to really shine.

The footage showed stuff you could do if you wanted to do it, if you're not interested in doing this because it will get repetitive you don't have to do it, just stick to the missions and finish the game.

No it hasn't.

If you don't like the look of the game that's completely fine, you're entitled to your opinion, and I respect it. Might I suggest leaving the discussion in here to the people who are interested in the game :)

Surely that dilutes the debate?

I was interested in the game and may buy it over GTA5, I was merely trying to cage peoples opinions.

Where do you stand on this?

How so?

What is so unique about this title? Why should I buy it over GTA5?

I wasn't aware it was a case of one or the other.

It's offering a very different take on the GTA-style open world game. The hacking and stealth aspect isn't something that's really been done before in a game like this.

Im guessing that was current gen gfx !! didn't look as polished as previous videos, but it is a day one for me on PS4

It was definitely next-gen/PC, looked great too.

You weren't really debating though, you just seemed to be suggesting it looked rubbish but without any reasons why.

I'm very excited for Watch Dogs, for several reasons....

1) It's a new IP. In an age where the sales charts are dominated by sequels and yearly upgrades, I'm always happy to see a new IP come in and (hopefully) do very well.
2) I'm a big fan of open world. Whether it's GTA, Red Dead Redemption or Sleeping Dogs (one of last year's best games IMO), I love 3rd person open world games
3) I love the cyberpunk feel of the game. This isn't unique to Watch Dogs, but it's a setting and style I very much like
4) I like the variety the missions appear to offer, with multiple ways to approach each mission. Again, not unique to Watch Dogs, but I always like games that let me do things my way, not a way I'm forced into.
5) I like the idea of being a master hacker and turning the world against my foes. Whether that's raising bollards to stop a pursuant, changing traffic lights to cause an accident, raising a bridge at just the right time, turning the lights off to let me escape, or causing electrical panels to overload. This is definitely one of the more unique selling points.
6) The drop in multiplayer looks very interesting
7) The smartglass integration where your friend can set challenges for you looks like it could be a great way to extend the life of the game

That's just off the top of my head. I'm sure there's more I'll think of as I wake up properly.

The ign 15minute video has clarified my concerns for the games extremely repetitive nature

Taking over all the ctos stations, following potential victim, chase criminal, and yet again end it with barricades

I know we need to play it our selves before turning it down completely but £50ish a pop i want to be sure it has enough variety to justify the cost

Also is it on the assassins creed engine? Some stuff looks familiar! Also the driving looks a bit bad but again videos cant be used to say that or any of the above, but just wondering where the buzz for this one came from really

My thoughts exactly.

This was my biggest problem with the first AC games.
