What film did you watch last night?

So despite all that you still gave it a 2?

lol I like some of the actors and felt sorry for them :D

Plus in all fairness I knew from the trailers that it would be unlikely that I would like it, just thought I would give it a try given the cult like status it seems to have.

The Anchor Man

Managed 30 minutes.

Childish 'humor' never laughed once.

Switched it off, and I have watched some crap in my time but no chance I could watch this through to the end.

2/10

I've watched it a couple of times. I find the love for it genuinely bizarre. There's a few amusing lines, but on the whole I just don't get it.

I think a lot of people just don't dig intentionally silly films.

Me? I love silly stuff like Anchor Man/Machete/Hobo with a shotgun etc... Can't stand most straight up comedies though.

Rush - 8/10

Artistically fantastic, good acting by both, not sure it was entirely accurate, but that's to be expected. Good score.

Biggest issue? You didn't really find yourself rooting for either Lauda or Hunt I found.

They both had fantastic approaches to the same thing, and it was great to see them but you didn't know too much who to root for.

Riddick - 1/10

Save your money and do not go to see this pile of poo.

No real story-line as you get about 10 mins worth from the last film. There are just too many similarities to Pitch Black and no real point to this film. Its just a money spinner for Vin Diesel. :(

The Purge - 7/10

A blood and guts thriller, quite predictable towards the end, enjoyable to watch.

The Hobbit, an Unexpected Gathering.

Enjoyed it very much 8/10
Oddly didn't find it slow, as the opening ten minutes as with LOTR set the scene so impressively, telling a marvellous story. Still hate Lucas for fitting less into three films than either LOTR or The Hobbit managed in ten minutes of actual storytelling.

This film was truly mouth watering.

Just watched Lawless on netflix

Set in 1920s prohibition era America, Lawless is the true story of the Bondurant brothers. Brazen and fearless, these young rural bootleggers became legendary criminals. The youngest brother, Jack (Shia LaBeouf), is ambitious and impulsive, the middle brother, Howard, is loyal but reckless and eldest brother, Forrest (Tom Hardy), leads the family with a silent determination. As the Bondurants’ illicit business and legend grows, so too looms the danger of bigger fish, and it’s not long before the brothers must face the consequences.

8/10 very good film, been meaning to watch t for a while. Even Shia LaBeouf doing a half decent acting job.

This is the end.

Stayed away from watching the trailer as I'd heard the film was crazy and I didn't want to spoil any surprises. Glad I did. Very funny and way out there. 8-10

I watched The Faculty last night, Can't remember the last time I watched it, but still good, Love the little verbal session between Famke Janssen and Josh Hartnett mid way through the film, brilliant haha :D

This is the End. 5/10

It's funny at the start with the whole celeb thing playing themselves but about half way through it just becomes a one joke movie and got tired fast. A few references and homage to other movies doesn't really save it from being mediocre. Also, from the trailer I would've thought Emma Watson was in it a lot more, rather than a mere 5 min cameo.

man of tai chi

pretty good, it is the sort of film that picks up half way in. Fight scenes were well done and it was good to see "Neo" fighting again :p :D No real plot to it and acting was pretty crap by the main cast.

Not a film I would watch again though!

Normally I wouldn't comment but Huh?

You saw the pointless and ridiculous dwarf song yes? The toon physiques and the complete lack of any genuine care felt for these characters bouncing around the screen.

alien vs predator requiem

Never watched this through so after an aborted run of the anchor man thought what the hell.

Its dark, so very very dark.

Don't understand why we still don't have a balls to the wall mix of aliens/predator ? Also I hate the way they made the aliens dependent on the species of the host. The aliens should have been left at Gigers original design :(

This is the End.

7/10

Funny film initially, but the jokes get a bit tiresome about halfway through. 1 scene did have me in stitches though - when James Franco discovers someone has jizzed on his porno mag :D

Savages. 7/10

As many have said, watched it on a whim, never heard of it but turned out to be a very good film. Spoiled only slightly by the ending.

The Rum Diary. 4/10

Couldn't be more different to Savages. This was just a borefest from start to finish, never really got going, no real plot or story line and a really dismal ending.
