What film did you watch last night?

The Croods, liked it and not a bad movie.

7/10

Watched i spit on your grave 2, which was tbh a pile of crap...worse than the remake...2/10.

alien vs predator requiem

Never watched this through so after an aborted run of the anchor man thought what the hell.

Its dark, so very very dark.

Don't understand why we still don't have a balls to the wall mix of aliens/predator ? Also I hate the way they made the aliens dependent on the species of the host. The aliens should have been left at Gigers original design :(

3/10

It is a load of bilge, so much so, it makes the first film look half competent. I laughed when the Strause brothers blamed the studio for all the bad reviews the film was getting, and said their next effort 'Skyline' would show what they can really do. Not a lot as it turns out, because that film was equally as bad. SFX guys shouldn't be directing films. A former ILM SFX supervisor directed the comic book film 'Spawn'. That was also a stinking turd of a film. Stick to SFX, guys.

A 'balls to the wall' Alien/Predator film would be great, but that's not likely to happen sadly. Studios are more interested in putting 'bums on seats'. Look at the upcoming family friendly Robocop film. There was no way in hell it was going to get an R rating, not when so many kids will want to go see it. More money for Hollywood bosses, and that's all that matters (to them at at least).

As for the Aliens being dependent on their hosts; the reason for this is that this allows them to adapt to whatever to environment they are born in to. Giger's original only came from humans, so we are used to seeing that specific design.

The best alien predator franchise by far .....

Normally I wouldn't comment but Huh?

You saw the pointless and ridiculous dwarf song yes? The toon physiques and the complete lack of any genuine care felt for these characters bouncing around the screen.

Yes. I enjoyed it. I prefer it over FOTR as FOTR was the mystical magical one out of LOTR for me. Now An Unexpected Journey was so mystical and entertaining to me.

But my god, the colours, the cosiness, the sunsets and Rivendell was absolutely gorgeous. I thought the film was amazing. I absolutely loved it.

Heh, from IMDB under The Hobbit discussion board.

Rule of thumb... I love most movies the critics hate. (With a few exceptions).

Two for me:-

Despicable Me 2 - Good but not as good as the first (what sequels are?). Like the first the Minions were the best part. 3/5

Silver Linings Playbook - Interesting relationship study featuring two people that really should not be in any relationships due to mental illness. It was pretty good in how it dealt with the mental illness thing but didn't really grab me otherwise. 3/5

the colony

Pretty decent film overall. Apart from Briggs, the rest of the cast weren't likeable and I didn't really care if they lived or not though :p

Would like to have seen flashbacks or something when food had just run out and there were more people alive.

Would have been nice to have known how those people got out of that underground place too and surely in a snowstorm/blizzard like that, their tracks would have been covered up within the night?

6/10

Terminator Salvation - Im biased to the whole series, I dont regret buying this 6/10
Iam Legend - the whole film is on him and smith does an amazing job I think 7/10

This is the end

I can't bring myself to watch the whole thing. My mind is boggled as to how this has got anywhere near its rating on IMDB. Rubbish, juvenile and just plain bad with barely a laugh throughout. I have liked plenty of films from the guys who are the main cast but seriously, how did they get to make this.

3/10

This is the End - 3/10 - I don't like any of the main cast in anything they've done before except for some Seth Rogan stuff so I really shouldn't have watched this however my mate put it on after a few of us went around for beers so I couldn't really say no, but I wish I could've :D

It was utter tripe showcasing the worst acting all the leads could manage. It was like they each said "whatever the most annoying trait I have lets magnify it and only do that for 2hrs!". Each character was so flat they all may as well have been 1 dimensional and every actor just did the same character they play in every other movie they've been in. I gave it 3/10 for the CGI (pretty good) and some of the cameos at the beginning were fun.

Watched How to Train Your Dragon again last night - 9/10. By far one of my favorite animated films. Its a shame the associated TV series looks a bit shabby

Also re-watched The Lorax, which was when I first saw it, an unexpected hit with the whole family, and still is 8/10 (and a few little Minion easter eggs too)
