Singapore Grand Prix 2013, Marina Bay - Race 13/19

It starts....

(Bah, who am I kidding, this started 3 years ago :p)

I'd like to see Mercedes get back on form.

Definitely.

I'm holding out a sliver of hope that LH can get on pole and then defend for the rest of the race like Rosberg did at Monaco.

Lewis has had mixed fortunes here but could have won it last year…

Vettel needs to have a DNF here big time. First corner shenanigans or something. We haven't had a major crash in a while.

I'll see if I can get into park ferme and invert some aero so he takes off at the first corner.

At Marina Bay Sands tonight for cocktails whilst listening to the cars scream around during practise :D

Getting slightly excited!

Wow 2008 it doesnt seem that long.

As for alonso and mclaren. Nothing happening. Alonso however will look at whos got what halfway though next season for 2015. Once its knowen whos got best powertrain, car etc. he will go where his best chance is, if thats mclaren then i can certainly see him there in 2015.

That building with the 3 towers and the with like a beach as the roof.

Watched a program last night how that was built. British Built :)

2 things make me highly doubtful of Alonso going to McLaren.

Firstly, he has a contract with Ferrai to 2016, and I can't see the McLaren accountants letting them write the size of cheque that would be needed for them to buy him out of it. And secondly, the first hit on Google is an article about it written by Andrew Benson

My god, how do people listen/watch the BBC any more? Ben Edwards is going on and on and on about how this year the cars are so much quicker than last year, how they have moved on and are back to faster than the full EBD years, blah blah blah.

Completely forgetting the fact the turn 10 changes have made this track significantly faster, and last years times are not comparable

You really should see the marina bay sands hotel in the flesh (as it were) truly awesome. It isnt totally straight though, it has a curve and the eternity pool frightened the **** right out of me.

Singapore trivia, tourists can enter the casinos FOC while residents must pay in. Alcohol is so expensive (15 quid for 4 small 330ml tins of guinness) that alcoholism is very very low there too. Taxis are dirt cheap too.

The Benson bit is true - talk about **** stirring on Whitmarsh's words - MW is right too - who wouldn't want Alonso - but that doesn't mean they are definitely trying to poach him for next year... but this ...

Alonso earns a reputed 28m euros (£23.6m) at Ferrari but if he moved his salary would present no problem for McLaren as he would be accompanied to the team by the Spanish bank Santander, who would cover his wages.

Whether or not Mclaren *could* afford to to pay the buyout clause - I think they would, and could, if they really wanted him.

Neale has stated today or yesterday that they want the strongest line up on the grid and tbf Button and Alonso would be mighty.
