It will be interesting to see what happens in the last few weeks of the AH being online. Although upcoming changes will devalue current top tier loot, there will presumably still be a rush to gear up before the AH closes.

For me, the temptation to spend real money being taken away makes me curious to try the game again but, then again, since I sold my stuff, I would have to "buy in" before the AH goes down in order to play high MP levels to start dropping the new stuff :)

not sure there will be a rush - as the level 70+ items will be some much more powerful - the current items at a guess will be only worthwhile to those levelling - and therefore probably pretty poor sales (read very !)

just seen prices on AH.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

am not going to get this kind of money any time soon....
anyone has spare gear for monk ? ;)

what are best tactics those days ? anything changed ?

My current tactic is wait until 18th March for the AH closure and loot 2.0. Until then I'm mainly just selling up items I don't want from my stash and getting a good bit of gold together so I can do some spam crafting and get some marquise gems crafted as they'll be MUCH cheaper with the AH gone. :D

Bastic, I have some spare monk gear in my stash, but it would certainly not going to be good by any standards. I'm going thought the inventory and salvaging to free space all the time so if u want some free but not very good items hit me up. My id is r3w1nd#2713.

I never played Diablo 2 online. What did these 'ladders' keep a track of?

Also, really quite looking forward to the expansion now - the game should have had random dungeons in from the outset, and hopefully the new loot rules will fix that-wot-wasn't-quite-broken-but-wot-didnt-quite-work

When you make a character on D2 you have to select whether it will be "ladder" or not, if it's ladder you will only be able to play/trade with other ladder characters and the ladder simply shows class/level/exp. Once the ladder season finishes your ladder characters get turned into legacy characters (you can only use them with non-ladder players) and the ladder season starts again.

I'm quite looking forward to it, as they've progressed massively in providing competitive utility. Starcraft 2 has extensive ladder/stat tracking, leagues etc. and if they add similiar improvements to Diablo it'll be interesting.

sent you friends invite ;)

and what the hell is Paragon levels ???

Going back to a D2 model should prove a winner from what should have been the same for D3. If the model aint broke don't tinker with it. Ladder competitive - check, Item Exclusive - check, Reset time long - check.

Thats a winner

Should set the AH utility with list item(s) and traders can list item(s) against it

whatever AH trade you need then accept and items swap.

Could really improve D3

Loot 2.0 coming meant all current loot will be worthless.
The level cap raise to 70 means all current loot and any loot 2.0 lvl60 loot will be worthless.
Ladders mean any current loot and gold will be worthless.

You either play for the fun of it or not at all. If you're not having any fun with it right now, try when loot 2.0 or when RoS comes out.

Not played in months since a patch brought with it 3K pings. Game was unplayable and after a week there wasn't any sign of blizz fixing it so stopped playing altogether. Will pick it up again once all the changes are in as it sounds a lot more like it should have been at start, not that I didn't enjoy D3. :)

Might logon and try and shift what gear I can on the RMAH.

RMAH was one of main reasons i stopped bothering to play the game, ofc the other reason was that once you have been through it once...whats the point.

Absolute donkeys for including it in the first place. The fact they plan to remove it just adds insult to a game that's already dead. They sold out, cashed in and ruined the game in the process. I'd of p2p from the off with a much better loot system and no AH.

I don't think removing the AH is the magic fix everyone is expecting it to be.

Ultimately, changing loot drops and removing the AH is a small band-aid on the fundamental issue that the way stats are auto-assigned, and the way they've set weapon stats/DPS, means the core of the game is broken.

Someone (on here, or on BluesNews) posted a giant GIF showing the reasons why, with everyone needing pretty similar items based on DPS, Vit + Core stat(s). I can't find it now, but it summed it up for me.

Edit - I found it :D

Shinobi was kind enough to give me some of his spare gear ;)

Can someone remind me what are best places to farm items ?
I remember that was a dungeon with plenty gold enemys dropping plenty items..not sure where it was though...
anyone ? :)

Vault of the Assassin in act 2 has the greatest champion/elite pack density iirc also do the oasis. Another route is act 1 festering woods and leoric's manor for 5 stacks of nv then fields of misery and halls level 2 up to the butcher (weeping hollow optional although not much xp if paragon farming).

Personally, I stopped playing since I'll start a crusader on the ladder for a fresh start. It'll be nice to actually get drops from monsters instead of the AH.
