** Corsair 750D - Available to pre order NOW **

I'll try again as didn't get an answer last time, this or the 540?

I think I maybe in need of a new case, last week got the Maximus vi formula and 4770k to replace my current asrock extreme 7 gen 3 and 2500k. Today I tried screw in the motherboard in the case(cm cosmos s), however the standoffs don't seem to line up properly with the screw holes in the motherboard(well I can wiggle the motherboard around and get the 3 holes in the top of the mobo to line up but the others don't).

I have been wanting too change the case for awhile but I was planning on holding off for the time being but the mobo not fitting will force my hand.
 
They're completely different cases. This one is more sleek and has better build quality, but the 540 is better for airflow.

I was thinking of water cooling, was going to initially use the ocuk h2flo(unbranded corsair h60) then go full WC later down the line. Might end up getting your tech labs one. As for the storage, it'll be 2 ssds and 1 mechanical drive.
 
Who on here has bought this? I got mine delivered today, the manual says there's 4 standoffs with the screws but mine only had one. Yes I know the standoffs are built into the case but there are meant to be 4 'standard' standoffs.
I've read some people complaining about snapped HDD trays, I've been luck mine seem fine(not checked the 4 ssd bays).
The build quality leaves a bit to be desired.

I did and like you I only got 1 standoff included, which confused me a but considering the standoffs are built into the case. Additionally the screws pictured and quantities stated in the manual don't match what they bundle, although there were more than enough to install my components.

Seems to be a common issue and a Corsair rep did mention that they'd look at getting the manual updated, so I suspect that there was a bit of copying & pasting going on when they produced it. He also posted this re. the standoffs:

"We've used this design for the 300R for two years now with no problems. The standoffs being built into the motherboard tray are designed to make it a bit easier to install. If you installed standoffs onto those mounts the motherboard wouldn't fit with the PCI-E slots and rear I/O."

Why they bundle one completely redundant standoff beats me though :confused:

Re. the hdd trays. Mine were fine too although but as you say they are fairly flimsy.

Apart from that the only minor gripe is that the side panels are thin and somewhat flimsy feeling, but once fastened onto the case they're robust enough. Considering the price the 750D retails for it's to be expected that a few corners will be cut here and there to keep costs down though.

On the whole I think the build quality is very good and it's a nicely designed case with some neat touches (removable hard drive bays, rear mounted SSD trays, removable psu filter etc.) and very pleased with mine.

I have another issue, I tried to take the front panel(the top bit where the 5 1/4 drive etc are) but for whatever reason the too right tab doesn't push in so that side doesn't come off(the bottom right, top left and bottom left come out OK) so the whole thing doesn't come out. So to get the 5 1/4 bay cover off I either have to take the front panel part off or put my hand in through the inside of the case to pop the tabs on the drive bay.

Having problem installing the Maximus vi formula in the case, had the same problem in the cosmos s. The standoffs don't line up with the screw holes on the motherboard. Seems the I/o panel isn't wanting to go in fully or something, might have to resort to pull off the padding on the I/o sbild but not sure if that'll cause any issues. Having wiggling the motherboard about quite a bit I hope I haven't caused any damage to it(looking at it seems fine so fingers crossed).

On the topic of the standoffs, one of the ones on the case looks like a wrong way around standard standoff. Is it just supposed to stick through the 'middle' hole on the motherboard as there's nothing to screw it.

Didn't get my case from OC but a quick late night opening revealed horrendous QC, the front pane was sticking up 3/4" overlapping the top tray plates :( the latches work but were mangled pre refitting of the front panel, looks like they just pressed really hard, it didn't line up so they just taped it there... the tape was just taped in the wrong place??? wtf? I think I have 2 of the standoffs you refer too, but as I also bought a Formula, I read your woes with interest!! (OC this time ;) )

the brushed finish also had dust ingrained in it that appeared white in the lighting I have tonight, and the side panel plastic protective filter doesnt fit , thus leaving paranoia over whether its a pre-returned case :(

it's gonna look empty with the starter for 10 temporary H100 cooler though LOL.. hope you get the formula sorted out

Let me know how your mobo install goes, I'm going to try a few more times before I have to resort to removing the padding off the I/o shield.

Well as I said the satndoffs don't line up with the screw holes on the motherboard so that thing isn't stopping the motherboard moving around.
 
I wasn't going to bother mentioning it until i seen these posts, but mine arrived this week and the inside of the window has 4-5 marks and scratches on it.

They're near the bottom so not that noticeable but still a bit annoyed by it tbh.

Glad that wasn't me i would want it replaced so much for Corsair quality.

Submit a ticket for it and we can send you a windowed side panel replacement. That should take care of it.
 
The quality of these cases are great, as Greybeard says, any issues then contact Corsair direct using their ticket system and they are known to be great when it comes to customer satisfaction and service. :)

Yes! The 650D is a great case, apart from the rubbish 200mm fans. I converted mine to dual 120mm fans in the front instead of the 200mm fan that came with it and it is now a lot quieter and cooler. 200mm fans are a gimmick imo.
 
OK so fiddling with the I/o shield(well taking it out then putting it back in, pushing the corners in numerous time) managed to push the motherboard back panel into the I/o shield until the middle 'upside down' stand off went into the middle screw hole in the motherboard, this caused the rest of the screw holes to get aligned so I could screw in the motherboard.

However there is still an issue with three of the screw holes, while they're aligned think the motherboard is a little high so the screws don't go into the threads to screw in. While I managed to get one of them screwed in(the bottom left corner) I'm a bit worried as the corner was bending so I'm concerned it may damage the board, the other two holes(one right below the back panel, the other is the middle bottom of the motherboard by the 'pins' you connect up the cases front panel) not able to screw in as need longer screws.

Think the back plate of the 'armour' might be causing the issues, I had enough trouble getting the motherboard in that I'm not wanting to take it out and try fitting the asrock extreme 7 gen 3 into it to test my theory.

Due to not all the screws being in and the bottom left corner bending I'm not too confident putting in the two sapphire 6950 toxics, worried the motherboard might come off/break from the weight.
