The Apple HE store - Full prices and details in here. *prices correct as of 15/06/10*

well my cousin has gone back to uni and will be buying it for me - im assuming he will have to pay for it and i wont be able to use my card? Im getting the rMBP 15". Will i still be able to use the apple care even if he 'sells' the rMBP it to me?

This is my first Mac by the way :)

Yes you can transfer student bought Applecare to someone else. You can use your card, as long as your make sure they think the purchase is for him.

Thanks for the input guys - ended up getting it at the store and extra 2 years apple care for £60; the whole purchase was done in my name too (confirmed with the receipt) which was obviously a bonus, so if there are any issues I can deal with it personally. I'm a very happy chappy with a brand new MacBook Pro !

That is for Macs.

It's not so clear for iPads. At time of purchase online at least the HE are cheaper but you can only purchase standard AppleCare where as on non HE store you can purchase AC+. However the terms on non HE site also say you can buy AC+ within 30 days of purchasing an iPad by contacting them or going into a store. Should probably clarify whether it excludes HE iPads or not but it doesn't appear to from the T&C's as far as I can tell.

iPad air only has slight savings:

Thinking of getting an air (currently got an iPad 2), but now that the times come, its dawned on me how nuts expensive they are!

I've got a 64GB 3G, so would be looking to replace that.... £660!!! :o Unsure if it's worth it when any other tablet is £200-300.

Yeh I know. I am prepared to be pay for it only because I like the look and feel of it. Build quality is something that I am always prepared to pay for but technologically wise apple are generally always down in comparison to their counterparts. Another reason is because I have been using iOS (?) since the first iphone and have become used to it.

So, does it come with AppleCare?!

When I ordered a Mac Mini through the Mac HE Store using Kingston University, via the link below at home, they didn't ask for ID and I received the item.

Apologies for the thread bump and if this has already been asked, but is there anything stopping one from ordering from the HE store at home i.e. they ask you for proof of your course etc? I have been out of Uni for a few years, but still have friends who are still at Uni, so I could just pay them a visit and use their connection to order, but would there be any implications if I just ordered from home?
