I thought the golden rule was no more than 40mm of spacers under the stem.
I'd agree that the frame in question is too large for the rider. Almost no seat post on show, huge spacer stack and stem rise.
The frame in question is a 54cm I'm 5ft 10

it is bordeline as to whther the frame is too small certainly not too large.
If you look at this pic

thats is a image used from the review bike as per the Washington post article here
http://www.thewashingmachinepost.net/aszure/review.html, clearly on there is 3 10mm spacers and 2-3 5mm spacers. mine has 5cm of spacers.
I believe its down to the geometry of the bike and design of the front as per the images ive posted before meaning a higher stack is needed, in regard to the seat height that photo was taken when it was built and is not representative of what the seat is now

there is at least another inch showing at least
the stem rise as well is down to the angle of the fork steerer the stem itself is a planet x 6 degree stem, certainly not one of those 17 degree jobbies
anyway as I am worried now lol, just been down and checked my new one alongside the old bike and the measurements are roughly (within a cm or so)the same, 91cm from saddle rail to bottom of crankarm and 61cm from top of steerer to bottom of fork.
I think on the questions raised in this thread though I may take it to another shop and let them give it the once over as I certainly don't want to do a hincapie as posted earlier, the recovery form this broken arm is taking long enough don't want another injury need to get on the bike and get some training in for next years sportives
