2013 Haswell Retina MacBook Pro...

Used mine intensively now since yesterday morning and I am in love. This is exactly what l wanted, smooth operation in OSX and great battery life. My screen seems much nicer/vibrant than my 2012 rMBP.

It just feels like I am running on dGPU all the time even though I don't have one.

To be honest it sounds more like you don't like trackpads than anything else. You make it sound like the trackpad is sub-par - it really isn't. Some switch to the Mac largely because of it.

How could it be improved? Could be that something like BTT would work well for you in order to give some more flexibility? Personally don't use or like BTT but a huge number of others on here swear by it.
 
BTT is awesome. I love it.
It turned the trackpad from being amazing to incredible. I can control pretty much everything I do on the web just with flicks and swipes.

It is sub par and it is my opinon. Others here have also said they prefer a mouse. What is wrong with that?

i have stated my opinions about the trackpad and yet some kid in here says my opinion is wrong? As if its actual fact that the trackpad is better then a mouse?

That is how a kid posts. It is a personal opinion. There is no benchmarks or other factual information that shows a trackpad is better then a mouse.

For instance a trackpad is not great for FPS games at all and it is not as precise and accurate as a mouse
 
The Mac trackpad is the very best in the business by miles. I can't even use other computer's trackpads now, they are so bad in comparison.
However, I agree. A mouse is more precise and infinitely better for gaming.

On the road and browsing the web, trackpad is king.
At my desk when photo editing or playing a game, a mouse gets plugged in.

Isn't it great that we have the choice :p

Spot on Rilot although I only use a mouse for gaming, trackpad for everything else.

I have stated already that the trackpad on the macbook is the best but i also stated that a mouse is better imo.

So its not me saying the trackpad is the worse, i am comparing the trackpad to a mouse.

As with all Apple products. This is the thing that people who hate Apple can't seem to see. The build quality is just stunning.

Comparing my iPhone 5S with my HTC One for example. The HTC One is the best built Android phone by miles, but compared to my 5S it feels like a badly made, shoddily put together, cheap phone.

No one builds in a feeling of quality quite like Apple.
 
The 2.6 is an i5. The difference in synthetic benchmarks is around 3-4% IIRC. Whether you will notice the difference depends on your workflow.
 
I went with the 2.6. The base 2.4 would probably be OK but the price difference for 13-14% seemed reasonably priced, but not the step from the 2.6 to 2.8.
 
I've taken the plunge and ordered the 13"/2.4/8GB/256GB.

The first Mac I've owned so looking forward to getting to grips with it. It will be replacing my PC which I'll be breaking down and selling.
 
Received mine this morning. First thing I did was whack the resolution right up. Now to get to grips with all of the different gestures!
 
Yeah, the default resolution makes everything look massive. I'm used to 1080p on my Sony (15.6") so the smaller text is fine.
