Hard to tell where the leak is coming from but the bottom was absolutely soaking. Do we need to put the sealant over the pre applied silicone? A few YouTube videos seem to suggest removing any previous silicone. Going to leave the tank overnight to dry before we do anything.
I know you supposedly know a thing or two about aquascaping Tom, but my Engineering brain tells me "they ain't all gonna fit".
(Tank envy too btw).
Are there any resources about dosing that either of you would recommend besides the article on ukaps? I was planning on using the dosage suggested here to begin with: http://www.aquariumplantfood.co.uk/fertilisers/ei-starter-kit.html
But I'd be grateful for any helpful pointers.![]()
The forums on UKAPS are a great resource notably the Aquarium Fert Dosing or the EI Natural & Low Tech sections.
I'll have a read through it.Had some good plant growth this week, the banana plant doing extremely well with lilly nearly at top of water![]()

What tank is that xibinim?
I do like trigons, How are you finding the jbl co2 kit? The other half won't let me build my own![]()

It looks like the tank has somehow un-cycled itself?
I did try Easycarbo but didn't really see any benefit and didn't really like adding a potentially harmful substance to my tanks.
I went to do my water change, it's been about 10 days since the last one and I checked the levels as usual before hand.
Ammonia = 0ppm
Nitrites = 0ppm
Nitrates = 0ppm
I would have expected some Nitrates.
Does this sound right?
It looks like the tank has somehow un-cycled itself?
What test kit are you using? Sounds to me like it hasn't been tested properly (like shaking the liquid for 1 minute and not a second less/more) or your kit is buggered. Usually the latter because they're notoriously rubbish. I use the API Master Test Kit and the nitrate readings are impossible to tell apart. Utterly useless. The only one I care about is ammonia/nitrates which is easily to tell if it's zero or not.
