2013 Haswell Retina MacBook Pro...

Anyone on the 15" (i7/16GB/750m) had any crashing/freezing issues?

Just had another lock up (5th?) while browsing facebook, got the loading pinwheel thing and then everything just froze. :(

For those who ordered online, does the package come in unbranded packaging or is it obvious what it is?
Can you specify an alternative delivery address?

It'll come in a square brown box (it's quite obvious there's a laptop inside). UPS will only deliver to your specified address for security reasons and you have to be there to sign for it.

from my experience. UPS dont even bother attempting delivery on half the items i order.

Now i know why many websites including OCUK dont use them anymore!

DPS are the best. You can even track the driver who is assigned to deliver your goods via google maps!

I had considered the Speck cases and am a bit of a speck fan myself as I've always used their cases on my iPhones, however I've seen reports that they crack around the edges after a while? Have you ever noticed this issue at al?

My MBP 15 got delivered yesterday. Already got the speck case. To answer your question, no. I always buy the satin one, it's a softer plastic. The other transparent ones, are a more brittle plastic which I would guess may lead to it cracking easier.

Was waiting on the phone for 30 mins to apple thinking they didn't send me my thunderbolt cables, but they had packed them in the macbook box, which I had not checked. Did occur to me it may have been in the box, long story but wasn't able to check before I made the phone call.

Overall, very happy, my first retina macbook. Beautiful.

I'm still having this dilemma. Does anyone have any examples of where 8GB just isn't enough?

The onboard graphics eats RAM so you won't have 8GB all to the OS itself

depends if all you do it surf the net and listen to music. If you do work stuff, then considering the RAM is soldered on and can't be upgraded, I'd advise anyone to get 16GB

You just don't know if you'll need it in the future. I'd rather have it and not need it, then need it, and not have it :D
