Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [14 - 15th December 2013]

I've been impressed with Gouffran this season - looks like he's settling in well now.

He looked decent last year, particularly his first few games, but crap form of team and no confidence hit every player including him. It's hard to play well when everyone else isn't. But his form in the past several games, his work rate defensively has been phenomenal, offensively he's been a real threat. Good movement, smart decisions and really helped hugely to hold on to leads in several of those games at the start of the run when Newcastle were spending entire halves pegged back holding on for their lives.

Everton taking a relatively early lead, looking comfortable. Even with Fulham improving it's away and too soon to expect anything dramatic from them against such a quality Everton side.

West Ham vs Sunderland, two awful teams in awful form... who knows with that one.

Palace, while they dramatically improved(before Pulis arrived) you still wouldn't rank them anywhere near CHelsea and anything short of a win by a few goals would be pretty surprising. If they can lose by a small margin it will be a decent result for Palace.

Get in 1-0 Newcastle!

lol, terrible attempt to clear, calmly taken, and, haha, CHAMAKH........

Chelsea, chelsea, chelsea..... you suck.

Funny thing is West Ham had Chamakh, he really is a decent if not brilliant striker, all he needed was games. Strikers play poorly when benched for 2 + years, that is just how it is. If they gave him some games he'd have started scoring and they could have kept him, instead West ham have no strikers and Palace got a very cheap and pretty decent striker.

It's not all doom and gloom, we are still heading towards Christmas with a couple of points spare at the top. Sure it would have been nice to get a point but if not for for tired sloppy passes a draw could have been on the cards.

With the amount we have out injured for most of the season I don't think we lack strength of squad. Still have podolski, chamberlain, diaby to come back.

City still have a dreadful away record for their team of players, they will still drop points. Chelski are probably favs but I wouldn't rule out Arsenal, especially with us likely to be out of the CL next draw lol

Ossasuna 2-0 up against Real, 27% possession but 4 shots to Real's 1, and two all important goals, full strength Real team too, Ronaldo, Bale, Alonso, Isco, Modric.

Ramos gets sent off then Isco scored a minute later, 2-1 half time.

RM's defence is pretty woeful this season too, maybe better if Arsenal get them in the CL.

they still have Ronaldo though so........... no :p

Real, I dunno, I think they'd struggle to win it but Ronaldo is the most in form goal scorer in the world by a country mile right now. Cup games, Ronaldo is always going to give you a chance.
