Thanks for the tips, guys.

It depends on how important it is not to taste the previous flavour - if you're just switching to a similar type or theme e.g Raspberry to Strawberry, Custard to Creme Brulee, Menthol to another Menthol... Either just refill and enjoy the brief combo (I discovered Apple Tart and Accie's Ambrosia makes a fantastic mix this way)...
Or if you want minimal effort Then just a flush through with hot water and take the opportunity to dry-burn the crud off the coil.

If you're switching from flavour group to another e.g. Menthol to Custard - then I'd be cleaning and soaking the lot - Isopropyl Wipes, dry burn or even take the time to recoil, and don't forget to lose the flavour wick (or at least reduce it).

And YES, Bananana (other fruit/citrus flavours do too!) can crack plastic/polycarbonate. So buy Pyrex tanks in future, for not much more. Or upgrade and check out the Davide-S with Aspire BDC Glassomizer or the latest (fugly) Aspire BDC version Todd's just reviewed (should be on YT shortly)...

I've seen a video on recoiling and rewicking. I'll be getting into that soon, looks pretty easy and cheaper. Vape Mesh company the best place? I'll ask here again at a later stage for help on wick type, gauge, wire type and gauge.

Yeah, I'm changing flavour groups. I've got loads of Isopropyl, that be ok for soaking the flavour wick before reusing the wick? Yes, I want a Pyrex glass tank, but I'd also like it to have a removable dripper or at least where I can do dripping if I need to. Which would be a good machine for that?

I bought some stuff from vape mesh company on ebay and they are very good, fast delivery etc. and even gave me a free bag of wire as well.

I ordered 10m of .2mm and 10m of .32mm from The Vape Mesh Company on eBay and they gave me 25m of each and a free spool of .15mm that looks like it's at least a metre or two.

Don't know if it was an accident or what but either way I'm happy. Ordered some mesh from them too on another occasion and that came sharpish as did the wire.

Its no accident, i have seen many posts where they have been doubling peoples orders lately or throwing in some extras

Just read a thread on aaec, if you want to read an informative argument against the ban on e-cigs you just have to read this :D

Blimey, 25 metres of each? That'll last years won't it? Having looked at their website, it's certainly dirt cheap per metre.

I'm gonna clean my EVOD tomorrow but meanwhile I'm using my second new EVOD from the kit and vaping on the Dekang blueberry juice, the first non tobacco flavour I've ever tried. Pretty nice .:p

I opened my other tobacco flavoured bottle 'Veronica Gold' just to have a sniff, not tasted it yet. It smells identical to the Beat Blend I've been vaping, (which frankly, smells and tastes a bit meh, like a generic filtered cigarette). I hope the Gold doesn't taste the same too but I think it will. Can anyone recommend a really good tobacco flavoured juice that has a really nice rolling tobacco aroma and taste? Joose juice doesn't seem to have any single tobacco liquids which is a pity as their 10ml tasters are cheap.

From what I understand, the current situation is that vaping will not be banned, at least not in the way it was looking like a month ago. There will be a limit of 20mg/ml on liquids and only 10ml bottles allowed.

Not sure about DIY supplies, I guess at worst you would still be able to buy 20mg/ml nicotine base and they cannot ban flavourings, PG / VG etc. There will not be a ban on any hardware except possibly refillable tanks, which might be limited to 2ml.

So until 2016 at least it is looking like it should be OK. Just hope it stays this way and they do not try to enforce any more restrictions. Bit worrying about the EU saying "if 3 member states report serious issues we can impose a nationwide ban".

Was there anything else interesting in that thread?

Ditch the Dekang tbh... There are much nicer liquids or DIY your own... Joosjuice do a couple of tobacco flavours, a "caramel blend" which is actually alright, better than dekang anyway, also they have "black gold" or something like that which I did not like.

I've got a few dekang bottles though, so will try a bit of all of them, but yeah, will probably ditch them. I know now why I'm not keen on the tobacco flavours I have. They're not rolling tobacco flavours, just cigarette tobacco, which I haven't liked since I last smoked Benson and Hedges and Rothmans many years ago.

Just come across 'Drummer' (also called 'Instrument') from Hangsen. Going to buy some! Supposed to be very very nice, like proper rolling tobacco flavour, copying 'Drum' tobacco. Quite apt considering that's what I do for a living.

edit: just ordered all 3 of the Hangsen rolling tobaccos from e-liquid world. £2.99 each and £2.50 shipping. Might not get them till after xmas now.

Drummer E-Liquid 10ml/24mg
Old Hoby E-Liquid 10ml/24mg
Virginia E-Liquid 10ml/24mg

I would ditch the chinese brands and get some stuff from the UK such as Vapology, snake oil, flavourart, etc. Much nicer. For some reason the chinese brands have a sort of chemical harsh taste to them which the better UK liquids do not have. Should get my DIY stuff through the post soon so will be interesting to see how DIY juices compare to the pre-made ones.

Well, according to those video reviews and another I saw on the Hangsen virginia flavour, the hangsen ones I've bought are apparently very nice.
But I also watched a review about OK Smokey's Old H (old holborn). Reviewer couldn't praise it enough, he said it's totally authentic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4LniHVtJLR0 But it's like £5 for a 10ml bottle. On their site, they jump from 18mg nicotine to 30mg and 38mg. No 24mg.
I will check out those ones you mentioned though, thanks!

Here is a summary of the new EU ruling on ecigs.

Refillable tanks and the two year report

The legislation requires the European Commission to report back in two years on the safety of refillable cartridges. That doesn’t mean they are being phased out after two years, it means there will be a discussion. It will give time for manufacturers to demonstrate the safety of their products.

More information on safety is better than less and vapers will want to know if the products they use are safe or not.

Banning certain products

A lot of people have claimed that if three countries ban refillable cartridges they will be banned everywhere. This is not true.

If three countries can prove that there is a safety risk with a particular type or brand or cartridge then the European Commission can adopt measures to ban it. BUT, this will only apply to the specific product, not to all of them, AND the European Parliament has the right to veto any such ban.

Eliquid concentrations

There will be a ban on liquids containing a higher concentration of nicotine than 20mg/ml and a ban on having more than 2ml of liquid in an e-cig. That means there will be a maximum of 40mg (20mg/ml x 2 ml) in any one e-cig.

There will also be a limit of 10ml liquid in any one refill bottle but no limit on the number of bottles you can buy.

There are no regulations as to flow rate through an e-cig. (Some studies have shown that the concentration of nicotine in a puff is dependent more on the e-cigarette than the liquid concentration).

These are safety measures. A spoonful of concentrated nicotine could kill a child and restrictions of some kind were inevitable. The original proposal was for a restriction of 4mg/ml and no refillable cartridges so this is a far better deal than we could have expected. It might mean people have to refill more often or take longer puffs but it won’t have any impact on the amount of nicotine you can physically breathe in.

Child proofing

Cartridges and refill bottles will need to be childproof and not leak during refilling. I don’t know of anyone who thinks we should put nicotine liquid in a form that would let kids accidentally ingest it.

Flavourings

These will be regulated at the level of individual countries but, importantly, no country will be able to ban a flavour that is allowed in another country and cross border sales will be allowed. One of the advantages of the European Single Market is that if you can’t buy it in the UK the Swedes or someone else may sell it to you!

Consumer information

E-cig manufacturers will have to let governments know within six months what ingredients are in their liquids. They will have to include leaflets and labels including health warnings that nicotine is bad for you and that e-cigs aren’t for the use of non smokers.

Advertising will also be severely restricted.

Pharmaceutical regulation

A manufacturer will be able to apply for medicinal approval if they want to make health claims about their products, but in general the EU will not classify e-cigs as medicines.

It is still possible for any government to insist that e-cigs should be classified as pharmaceutical products in their own country. The same legislation can apply to ANY product, but there might be legal grounds for challenging it if applied to e-cigs. But the new EU rules provide an alternative legal framework for controlling e-cigs so fewer governments are likely to take the pharmaceutical route. Anyway, the decision will be taken in London not in Brussels.

Which is better out of these 2 (both the same price, with protank 2)

1) itaste SVD + 18650 Batteries

2) FT nemesis mod clone + FT kick + 18650 Batteries

Would the nemesis because it would be more durable and less likely to break?

SVD will probably last you a couple of years, the Nemesis will last you a couple of decades. All my efforts in finding the perfect vape for me have been around looking into coiling methods and airflow which in my opinion make a lot more difference than variable voltages.

I decided the SVD looks tacky so I don't think I will get that, I like the Nemesis clone but would I be able to fit a fuse and a kick in it with an 18650 battery? That way I would have a nice looking VV device that would not blow my face off if I mess up a coil.

You can fit a kick and an 18650 in the Nemisis clone, the kick is a also a safety fuse afaik, so thats all needed.
I am not sure on the shipping of batteries from Fasttech, might be worth having a look around.
Or there is also Torchy the batter boy on UKV.

My above post was actually about a thread on an Aussie vapers forum where one of the states are proposing even more serious measures than the EU.
There is a question and answer correspondence from a poster and a member of the authorities, where she destroys his arguments against e-cigs :)

Hmm looking at reviews it seems basically everything on fasttech is probably fake, even the labelled "authentic" products are probably not from the manufacturer.

They are very cheap, but I do not think they are the same product you would get from the manufacturer if you purchased direct.... for example "innokin SVD" would probably be made by some random chinese factory which is not actually innokin. Might be wrong but they do seem to be calling things "authentic" even when they are actually not lol.

At least with the mech mods you know they are fake but they do not have any parts which will break such as dodgy buttons or PCB's from a factory that are making identical clones with lower QC.

If you are going to get a mechanical mod and get into coiling, you owe it to yourself to buy the Sentinel M16 brass clone from FT for £10. I've been using mine daily and it's perfect. 18350 mode is tiny, 18650 if you need all day vaping.
