29 million Bulgarians and Romanians will gain the right to live and work unrestricted in our country

I wonder why your university is foreign, maybe because European students are following through with their education. Instead of drinking themselves to death like most people in the UK.

UK lost its faithful image a long time back. It's only known for bad drinking habits and high teen pregnancy rates now.

I wonder how it got that way, maybe the older generations passing their habits on and learning their children from a early age that drinking a lot of alcohol is essential to create yourself and enjoy your life as well as arise your future.

Blame the older generation, they made the first changes into what the UK portrays itself as now.

Don't blame immigration, it is the fault of the people living inside the country.

I myself have the benefit and brain to reject drink and say "I care for my future".

Well it's more my faculty rather than uni as a whole. And it's probably more for the reputation of the teaching and research (Many profs are FRS, leading CFD research etc). I drink myself to death and I don't have much trouble getting a first... alcoholism *high5*

I totally disagree with you, pretty much every girlfriend and people i've been with are foreign. I have friends from all around the world, educated myself in other cultures, travelled and learnt other languages. Heavy drinking and high pregnancy rates? Really.....? It sounds like you believe continental Europe is a heaven compared to the UK.. it's really not.

What's your problem with drinking anyway? Many EU countries have a worse problem.

Heaven? I just don't like the UK's way of life. I don't care how high wages are. Money cannot buy you friends, money cannot buy you happiness and money cannot buy you family. I rather continue and walk away without money, than be rich. Starting of the 21st century, everyone has become obsessed with money, it means nothing.

My girlfriend is from Bulgaria and I will be moving to Bulgaria with her. She currently lives in a city just outside of Sofia, 40 - 50 miles outside of the capital. I suppose you oppose and disagree because you're not really interested in life without money, you're too high up and feel money is your key to the world. ROFL.

My saying is: "As long as you have a good education, good working ethic and a good stance on drinking, you're able to wherever you like and want. In other words, a person's education (or your) education is the passport to freedom."

Simple words of wisdom, some people do not have the ability to fish out and personalise their selves a status quote on their life and live it.

I also use proverbs to live my life. In reality, it gets you a long way using both of what I've explained, a lot more than a few thousand pound notes will.

Where were you educated? You seem to pride yourself on this education, and yet your posts are barely legible.

I can trace my family back to the 17th century. They've all worked hard to build up this country and it makes me sad today knowing immigration drives down living standards and takes away jobs from British people who do want to get on in life and are willing to work hard but the jobs aren't there.

So yeah it does make people want to emigrate. If you can't beat them. Join them in moving around the world looking for work. This whole episode will go down in history as one big **** you to hard working British people. The governmend and corporations don't give a damn about British people. Only cheap labour.

So. much. lack. of. clairty. and. thought.

Most Bulgarians want to go to Spain, Italy or Germany.

Most people that don't want them here are the ones that will have their pension depending on immigrants. Didn't have kids - or enough of them, expect to work an office job, had an easy mortgage and interest rates and expect the cash to keep flowing even though they refused to address issues that were being raised decades ago. It's an ironic attitude to take - serve yourself or else you'll fall in the gutter, yet anyone from another nation forced into such an attitude is 'selfish' and 'not deserving' (an entire nation of lazy people, fancy that!) of supporting the current ageing population's welfare.

take take take take take take take.

Have you ever actually thought about why countries exist?

And before the 17th century? I'm sure many people have worked very hard, congratulations.

British people who do want to get on in life and are willing to work hard but the jobs aren't there. [/quote[

This statement here; it's just crap. If you go on any job board, there are thousands and thousands and thousands of jobs, which are not filled. So, why is no one filling them? The real question is, I think, why are British people not working.

Europe has been trying to conquer UK for 1000s of years, it took two generations of fools to allow the uk to be conquered from within.

Blimey what a statement to make. To have such a concentrated, undercover effort that really takes some doing, and a core of people. Could you give me more insight into why you think this?

Maybe you didn't mean it in such a literal way and got caught up in the argument so went for a stronger phrasing of words to feel like you had a stronger point of debate / counter argument to whoever had gone before you.

What has that got to do with this thread? This country already exists and we don't need a bigger population for the jobs that aren't there.

My name originated from a place in Yorkshire before that.

It's very hard to even find a job around where I live. Maybe a need to move to were you're talking about ?

Most British people are working, using the amount of available jobs as some sort of indication of British laziness is almost as bad as Buz's knowledge of statistics...

Have I said I don't like them ? Stop trying to bait.

I don't like the situation we are in and think it's not what the country needs at the moment.

Would you like me to do DNA tests? For all you know my family may have evolved on this rock.

So long as you appreciate that there is never a generic true way of labeling a country. Most of them exist to set controls on the set of people within it. Either by preemptive (if you believe in conspiracy) or reactive decisions, those rules stay in place depending on what serves the corporations the best. So in answer to your statement, well err yeah the "country" is always going to be slave to an industry or a select few corporations. On a per person basis the EU has actually protected and ensured better living standards than otherwise both here and elsewhere (however, if the EU on a whole as part of a bigger picture is a good thing is a different question)

People go green with envy when someone gets the opportunity to move from one slightly less liberal district to the one they're in. Freedom of movement is improving, that's probably a good thing but i wish people would look to a bigger picture then get wrapped up in minor battles where they categorize each other. In reality when you meet a foreigner they tend to be thoroughly nice people just as capable and civilized as us and people seem to somehow forget that as soon as they read some words written by a moron on a piece of recycled paper..

The way British chavs are breeding in larger numbers and at greater frequency than people higher up the income scale, with higher IQs we should probably welcome more motivated, keen individuals from overseas... our national gene pool needs it - the current benefits system is promoting survival of the weakest and the descendents of these people are going to make up larger numbers of our population going forward.

Bring on the Romanians and Bulgarians.... & start voluntary sterilising of British women if they require any subsidies from the state after they've had their first child they can't afford.
