So that government target of reducing immigration "to tens of thousands" is going well then, with net migration rising from 175,000 to 243,000 in the last year with EU migrants accounting for two thirds of of the rise.
With a senior Tory today defecting to UKIP (and doing the honourable thing and forcing a by-election) this presents a massive problem for the PM. He simply has to negotiate back our border controls which is a sacred cow for EU federalists running Bruxelles. I fear the momentum behind anti-EU feelings in the UK will just grow and grow in the run-up to a referendum on the subject.
