Cigar Aficionados

can you start smoking a cigar, stop and restart smoking it again whenever?

or does it not work like that. i have never smoked

SO at 60-70F, how do you guys get through the summer without then spoiling?

It's Britain! Going a few degrees above isn't a major problem, you just have to keep an eye out for hatching tobacco beetle.

In our house in Louisiana the AC was always set to 75 which is fine, especially if you find a cool closet or something.

My brother got me a couple of tubed Punch Coronas for Christmas. One brand I've not tried yet. So that's my smoking for after Christmas dinner later. I really need to get a new humidor and batch of cigars though.

Just ordered myself 2 x Romeo y Julieta No.3 and 4 x Chinchalero Picadillos Cigar just as some cheap smokes.

All ive had was a henri wintermans this morning :(

Some of these cigars are beauties! Like the smell, but could never smoke them. My lungs would collapse

oh yeah! Forgot about that. Well, either way, i cant afford to start haha. Too many other things to buy. Might get one down the line to smell now and again. :)

what do Cohiba Siglo V taste like?

I like Cohiba Siglo I cigars.

I haven't had a Siglo V in about 5 years but from what I remember and what I read, it's typical of the Siglo range. A bit milder than some might expect, but still quite complex and creamy with lots of smoke. I seem to remember it was an enjoyable 90 minute smoke.

If you like the flavours of the Siglo I, the V should be right up your street if you like that particular vitola. Aged, they're supposed to be amazing.

I've always enjoyed a cigar, but new to having them in the house. Usually just buy them now and again as singles. However, I've invested the grand total of £2 on a Tupperdor. It has some cheap, and not very nice, cigars that a friend gave me and a box of H. Upmann's which are very nice.

As for the Tupperdor, it's great. I've got a bundle of Spanish cedar panels which my local cigar shop gave me for free, as well as a humidity control packet. It does exactly the same as an expensive Humidor but for 100th of the price!

Scuzi how were Cigarone.com with customs?

No charge! The box was very non description and none of the labels alluded to anything tobacco related. I'm guessing for that reason it sailed through.

Of course I will be declaring it to the relevant authority and paying any duty in full ;)

Nice tupperdor Ahleckz. And those H. Upmanns are quite a gift. How do you rate them?

I actually bought the H. Upmanns. Got them at Dubai airport, think they were around $110 US for the box which is an absolute steal! I've only had the one, but they are very nice, highly recommend them.

My mate has just come back from cuba and nabbed me a handfull of cigars,
Some Monte Cristos and some Cohiba Siglo 2's.

I've nabbed myself a airtight jar thing from Ikea and was gonna get one of those humidor stick things, anyone bought in the UK and are they any good?

Also when I put them in I take them out of the metal tubes yeah?
I know that probs sounds redonkulous lol

Take the cigars out of the tubos if you're going to store them in a controlled environment. Some people keep the cedar around the cigar, others take it off. Personally, I would keep it around the cigar so that when you put it back in the tubos before smoking, it will keep for a bit longer in there.

An airtight jar with some humidity beads is fine for storage. If you want to age them, a humidor is a better place but a jar will be fine for short/medium term storage. I really rate Heartfelt Beads but it takes them a while to arrive from Nevada.

I have purchased what i think is the same humidor as yours Scuzi from Cuban Crafters, i made an offer of a $100 (£65) and they accepted it. I was very surprised and very happy, just waiting for delivery now :) Where did you get the new batch from ?

Well this turned up with a small bit of damaged but they have since replaced it with another. They must have been very out of pocket after import tax and postage costs from Miami and i don't think they will be picking the damaged one up as it will put them even more out of pocket so not sure what to do with it at the moment. They did mention when the claim first went in to keep it in the original packaging ready for collection but after several reminders from me about them picking it up they still haven't. What do people normally do when this happens ?
