Why wouldn't they? We have an entire nation of beliefs and traditions that are followed even by the media and stores that permeate most parts of our lives. You'll find most people "integrate" just find. Extremists don't and have no place here.
So we should base the UK's immigration policy on the fact that Hindus are good party organisers? Sounds cool
How about we just let in people from countries we think are OK, do not have a record of anti-social behaviour and whose national pastime isn't beheading people for giggles? Exceptions made for anyone with a degree.
I don't mind* being forcibly culturally enriched by liberal fascists, I just don't want to be forcibly culturally enriched by people from a country/toilet I dislike.

Unfortunately every culture had their idiots and that cannot be changed. The best we can do is ignore any fool who believes trivialities such as skin colour or place of birth that no one has any choice over. It is a waste of time engaging in a bigot because you cannot rationally persuade someone out of a position that they entered irrationally.

Are you willing to extend those two points (which nobody cares about anyway) to include religion and culture? (which also appear to preclude choice). Because they seem to be the main reasons why people from other countries want to kill me, (or to recreate a toilet to their liking)
It is a waste of time labelling other people's views as extreme if you simply believe your own extreme views are the only correct ones.

Don't see a problem with immigration as long as they come to work, integrate and better themselves. Can't begrudge anyone who wants that.
Living in a largely white british area was horrible at times also. What the hell has racial creed got to do with that? Plenty of people are *** hats, doesn't matter who they are what where their parents came from. I was born and raised on the largest council estate in the UK which coincidently has an awful crime rate and is filled with low life scum.
Sadly all of them are white british, yet thats obviously not a problem is it?
My point is theres scumbags in every single area of the UK and race/skin colour/weight/beauty/sexuality and anything else you can judge someone on doesn't factor into it.
Thats what legal immigrants do more often than not, which is also what they should do. I do stand by their being a requirement for all immigrants to speak english, as it doesn't make sense for them to permanently reside in a country they physically cannot integrate with due to language. Every single immigrant I know has a good degree and a professional job, earning a very nice wage.
well n one speaking English was a start. and the fact a lot of them were massive racists, made walking home at night a bit of a chore sometimes.
Then they don't deserve to live in a multicultural society either.
but sadly they are what quite a lot of them are like. we are now facing a big health crisis in the Pakistani/Muslim communities due to inbreeding from them being married off to their cousins back home to get brutish citizen ship, which is now producing genetic defects/health issues, which are going to cost the nhs and care services a fortune.
Nothing that can be done about that though. The other side of the coin when it comes to pakistani/muslim communities is the amount of highly skilled workers they produce. Where I live and work there are a very large amount of "non white" workers (often not british born either) in very highly paid roles, mostly medical related. Got to take the crap to keep the good sadly, in any culture.
That's the issue though isn't it we will need to do something about it because these diseases are going to be phenomenally expensive to treat/manage and grow quickly and also start affecting others as they'll be adding a lot of carriers to the population.
i think it's unlikely that the skilled out weight the unskilled given the poverty/areas they tend to congregate in. Indian immigrants though seem to be more "middle class" for want of a better word from my experience though and integrate a lot better or at least seem polite enough not to go around shouting at the white folk.
