Right, Neil has covered all of the good stuff, so genuinely:

WHAT?

has been most disappointing for you THIS YEAR and :

WHY?

Mine would have to be Bioshock Infinite, because I was expecting it to be as epic as the first, and IMO it wasn't.

edit: Just for a little clarity I will count up the votes after a few days and put them into 2 categories:

THE RESULTS ARE IN!!!!

So the awards for the Turdiest (most broken) games of 2013 are:

First place - X-Rebirth
Second Place- a joint second! Rome Total War 2 and BF4 share this
Third place - Aliens: Colonial Marines

Honourable mention goes to The Ashes 2013, while the amount of people who actually seem to have played then voted for it is quite low having to pull a game off sale must require something epically bad. Unfortunately I can't count votes based on the youtube lolvideos.

And now for the most disappointing

First place - Bioshock Infinite
Second place - BF4
Third place - Joint third between Rome Total War 2 and Sim City

No honourable mention for the most disappointing here, however it is clear that a lot of big name games are now broken on release rather than lacking in story or a good conclusion!

1. Worst, this will be for the likes of A:CM, where the release is broken and, despite possible patching is maybe still unplayable or 'refund-worthy'

2. Most disappointing, from most of the posts I can see where people were let down by maybe a bad story, or expected more from the game, but the game itself is not inherently broken or unplayable

Another vote for 'Aliens: Colonial Marines' which was an utter pile of dog excrement and I spent £30 to pre-order. More fool me :(

Not played many of games released this year so it has to be FFXIV for me - No idea why I bothered just the same old MMO story looking for another Warcraft which will never happen.

BF4. Laggy, frequent CTD when joining a map, not much improved terrain destruction, loads of paid for DLC.

I call it BF3.5 as it really isn't a new game.

I do play bf4 but it is quite a disappointment and falls far short of the hype.

House mate of mine who is obsessed with cricket nearly got stuck with Ashes Cricket 2013. Easily /thread

Don't believe me? he got asked to return the game and get a refund it was that bad.

Skip around 8 mins in.

X Rebirth.

This. There is no other contender. The game has received 20 or so patches and still isn't anywhere near being finished.

X-Afterbirth ruins a perfectly good detailed franchise by giving the players exactly what they didn't want, and also giving it broken.

I would disagree with at least part of that - there were a lot of features included (or at least an attempt was made to include them) that the community has been requesting for years e.g. walking around ships/stations.

On the whole it has been a terrible year for PC gaming - I can't think of many titles that are worthy of any 'Game of the Year 2013' awards, regardless of category.
