- Utter turd - OCUK WORST GAME OF THE YEAR

Out of everything I purchased in 2013 it has to be Battlefield 4. When viewing the trailers and some game play videos I had a lingering feeling I didn't like the look of it, so I held off buying it.

Then, the black friday sale happened on Origin, got it for something like £25. Extremely disappointed. Putting aside the constant crashing mid game it just seems to have lost its appeal to me. The maps feel small and boring, the new menu doesn't feel right (perhaps I'm too used to BF3). The game just feels like COD with a few random vehicles thrown in.

Fingers crossed it's a WIP, but I've uninstalled for now.

PC : SimCity
XO : Forza 5

I was thinking of getting an XO just to get F5, is it that bad?

House mate of mine who is obsessed with cricket nearly got stuck with Ashes Cricket 2013. Easily /thread

Don't believe me? he got asked to return the game and get a refund it was that bad.

Skip around 8 mins in.

This.

The publisher pulled the game and offered refunds to everyone who purchased it, that does not happen too often.

Right, Neil has covered all of the good stuff, so genuinely:

WHAT?

has been most disappointing for you THIS YEAR and :

WHY?

Mine would have to be Bioshock Infinite, because I was expecting it to be as epic as the first, and IMO it wasn't.

Id probably run with u on bio shock infinite, got bored of it after 30 mins just didnt seem to have the same depth as previous titles. Used to put headphones on, lights off and scare the crap out of myself (-;

Only redeeming thing about bio shock infinite was i got it on steam for £6 That soothed the disappointment

Not bad per se, but a massive disappointment. Graphics and Sound are lovely and it drives very well. However it's light on content and they've got the cheek to charge for DLC packs that contain the content from FM4 that was rescanned and added late. Online league racing is out of the window too as they stripped out a lot of the basic features that were there in all the 360 titles. They ran out of time, it's half finished but full price with premium DLC prices to add insult to injury.

PES 2014 for me, totally destroyed the franchise, there is no way back from this, and I am the biggest PES fan boy you will ever come across.

woah that's bad news, I was considering it:

Not played PES now for 3 years or so and I'm missing a football game. Loved them since Match Day on the Spectrum and then Kick Off on the Atari ST etc...

Ouch, I'll maybe hold off for a while then, I wouldn't mind splashing out £500+ but for an unpolished turd, it can come down in price a bit :p

For me it would have to be X Rebirth. I should have cancelled the preorder when I started questioning why their were no reviews of the game before release. I was reassured by lots of people that the game will be great and Egosoft will fix any issues. From now on I will never ever preorder a game. As far as I am concerned no review means the publisher know they have a turd on their hands and are trying to hide it.

If you only played a game for 30 mins i'm not sure you've played it enough to give an opinion. Seems a tad harsh to me anyway:eek:

With Rome 2, I knew CA would lie to our faces in various videos and release a pile of buggy twaddle with the usual painfully predictable faults and X Rebirth just had suspicious £40 rip off written all over it. The Dev's were just too secretive about the thing, and with good cause.

From this, one hopes the fan boys will learn to stop pre-purchasing blind and also stop foaming at the mouth when anybody dares to question the pre launch hype.

I bought SimCity and while it's always going to be considered the lame duck of the series, I've enjoyed playing it. I won't touch the paid DLC though.

I suppose my personal 'worst game' would be BF4. It was spoilt by the numerous CTD's on launch which caught me off guard as the beta seemed to go pretty well, from what I saw of it. In fact I haven't gone back to it since mid November as the experience was tarnished. Thankfully with vouchers and refunds the game only cost me about a fiver from the big A. So it wasn't a huge loss.

Another vote for Bioshock Infinite. Utter tripe (mostly for the dumb as **** plot).

That said, there are plenty of games I avoided that probably sucked more.

X:Rebirth. 10 patches in it's first month of release & it's still not fixed, it's so bad even the boss of the company took to the forums to admit it was a turkey. :D
