When I first tried rooting mine that's the problem I had. Looked through loads of guides that said to change and then only one of them said how to actually do it :rolleyes:
 
There is a trick to that, keep the root .zip file on the phone. That way when you install the next update (via or custom recovery) you can flash it straight after.
 
Hotukdeals showing these at £129.99 for the 16gb version. Id be hsppy with a moto g but 2gb ram on n4 seems a lot more futureproof. Very tempting although not sure what open-box means.
 
Open box doesn't have an exact meaning. It could be something that had been returned by a customer, could be a former display model for instance.
 
with so many people buying, retailer still showing stock and all this during holiday period it means either

1, extremely poor and inaccurate stock control
2, loads available

my bet would be on the 1st one.

I certainly wouldn't be returning anything for this one yet.
 
Absolute outrage on HUKD! As shock, Scan don't have enough stock. I got an email basically saying I probably won't get one so I said fair enough, either money back or a Nexus 5 please! :D
 
I have a nexus 4 and a nexus 5, and with ART enabled, there is not THAT much in day to day use that the N5 proves a compelling choice (the camera being the main one) as the n4 is still really smooth.

The downside of the N5 is that it is slightly too large to cover all corners with my thumb. THe n4 is the same size but the screen is smaller so it is easier, for me, to operate with one hand.

They aren't going to send you a nexus 5 ;) You'll be getting a refund.
 
Interestingly from reading the thread over there though : people have been ordering large quantities of them which figures with hukd..... same as a few individuals on here when the n5 was released..... eager to spoil it for others and try make a quick buck!
 
It does look as if the above mentioned reseller limited supplies to one per order, and cancelled any for multiple amounts.

Out of interest, did anyone on here receive one which appeared to be 'as new', was complete, and in full working order?
 
Is 3g going then? I still don't get why I would need anything faster than I already get on my 3g with three or 22mb down not faster enough for a phone?

The one with the beaten up holed box was blatant utter bs. As if you'd walk away from a shop with a product in that state, let alone the retailer sell one. Someone is trying to tarnish for no reason.
