***The Official LG Optimus G2 Thread***

I just bought an LG G2 32GB, and it's got the software version D80210b-HKG-XX.

Is there any point in changing it to the EUR version?

How would you go about doing it? (it's my first android phone)

Thanks

No point updating it since the Hong Kong version has a D80210C update available and the UK sim free version's lagging behind.

I'm assuming you've bought the sim free version of the LG G2. Try checking for a software update and it should be available to you.

Decided to go for the G2 over the Note 3 and purchased the Korean model from eBay. Managed to get one for just over £400 delivered from Seoul, F320 - 32G, micro-sd slot,2 x 2700 Li-Po batteries and an official charging dock. Quite looking forward to getting to grip with android again.

I just tried to check for updates, but it says that i have got the latest software version for current OS. Is there any other way to check apart from the About Phone > Update Center > Software update ?

No other way. Is your G2 carrier branded or sim free?

You could always download the latest version and flash it on the phone using LG's flashing tool.

It is a sim free one. I bought it from digitalrev.
Doesn't really matter at the moment. I'm really impressed with it so far.

Also received mine this morning :)
Phone does feel quite cheap as per the reviews but so far so good. Currently installing updates and removing some of the Korean bloatware. Latest update is just under 740MB, which I'm guessing is KitKat .

The charging dock was a little bit of a late down. Doesn't actually charge the phone but the second battery at the back. Still looks nice enough.

Camera is okay, coming from a 1020 you really notice the difference though.

Sweet, I've heard they were rolling it out yesterday on the Korean versions, how does it run compared to the previous install? I hope they roll out on the international version very soon.

Can't really comment to be honest as I only received the handset today and updated to KitKat straightaway.

I'll probably end up going for a custom Rom at some point as there's a lot of LG software pre-installed i can't remove.

Since I was getting on so well with the N5, I've parted ways with my G2 and sold it on Gumtree.

As much as the G2 an awesome phone, I felt it was just a hair slower than the N5 and it was just sitting there gathering dust so it's now gone to someone who will use it.

TBH I loved the buttons on the back as after a while they became very intuitive. As for the speaker it's slightly better than the N5.

No problems with the speaker on mine. Nor the rear buttons, really easy to use.

Mines been properly stable, reliable and a joy to use, very happy with it and glad I chose it over the competition :)

I'm with you on that. The G2 is a great phone but having the N5 as well a choice had to be made between the two and unfortunately the G2 lost out.
