Supplements the debate/discussion thread

You mean he shouldn't post, because his opinion differs from your's?
Tut tut.

The last time I checked this was an open/free forum, to promote discussion and debate.
How have you not noticed that Nate doesn't want a debate at all. As soon as someone makes a counter point to his argument he either ignores it, insults, or spouts some absolute nonsense that doesn't seem to even need to be related to the original point. We've been going around in circles with him for months now, although he wasn't as bad originally (too distracted by making wild strength goals?).

All he wants now is a soap box.

And we will probably have a very vague counter argument in 24 hours, once he's gone and done some more reading.

I enjoy it though, brings back things i've not covered for a while :)

Haven't been in this thread for a while but it looks like a few people are thinking too deep into some areas, if you're worried about the effect any diet is having on you go for a full health check and make changes based on that.

Using pictures of people and saying this is what happens if you do this diet is just silly.

On topic: Is anyone using that Matrix Anabolic Gold stuff? I've heard they've improved the mix a lot, was gonna give it a try.

A lot of people in Hollywood use the low carb diet and they are amongst the most beautiful people in the World.
In fact, I was watching a TV program about a year ago, which stated that it is getting difficult in Hollywood to find food menus which are high in carbs. People there, love low carb diets, because they are proven to work.

These high fat, high protein, low carb diets are proven to work.

Beautiful = not fat?

It's been shown over and over again that people on low carb diets who aren't tracking/regulating their intake tend to consume less food than people eating a higher carb diet by default (and we're talking about people who don't do any worthwhile activity/exercise), as upping protein intake increases satiety quicker. I suppose that means that basing more of your diet around protein/fat is a better idea if you're not doing any exercise/activity (although you should be), but excluding a whole food group because of it is retarded, and encourages all sorts of orthorexia nervosa behaviour.

As ever, the problem with most people is they over-eat, because over-eating is easy when your diet consists of mostly processed/packaged stuff. Higher protein/fat stuff tends to be more whole-ish (meat/dairy/nuts etc) which by default is making a better choice for dietary sources. Also low carb is a bit subjective in terms of what amount is considered low - limiting carbs to 100g or so might be low for many on here but to a paleophaggot it'd be high since many of them are obsessed with being in ketosis 24/7 by keeping carbs as low as humanely possible, and rounding up potatoes to burn at the stake.

Also Hollywood = not real life, with all the PEDs, cosmetic surgery etc, and being the vainest place on earth, half the women there probably eat sweet FA to stay as rake-thin as possible, and did before xyz diet was in vogue. It has a lot of beautiful people precisely because it's Hollywood - they gravitate there with their aspirations of fame/fortune.

Sweden is going through a phase of LCHF atm - they have a lot of hawt looking wimmenz - but I know first hand most of these beautiful people get drunk at the weekend (on those evil sugars) and didn't look any different before they decided to cower at the thought of eating rice.

Ramble ramble.

I'm actually looking for protein atm, I've finished my favourless 5kg myprotein 80%. The stuff you linked looks promising, 40g per scoop, is it a 50g scoop?

Am I the only one who likes the flavourless stuff lol?

Concerning yourself over the grams per scoop is *almost* pointless. Whether it's 21/22/23/24grams it's not going to make a world of difference.

*Almost* - it's important to a degree but I wouldn't chose one over the other because of it.

Mmmm... It is arguably more important to buy the stuff in a tub, as the screw/press lids prevent evaporation and denaturation of the protein more effectively than the zip lock seals on bags.

Srs post is not srs.

But how do you decant it, that's the important question.

Right. Enough.

Nate I told you to start your own thread if you wanted to discuss your garbage. Either contribute or stop trolling this thread.

This goes to anyone else.

Okay.

Anyways came in here expecting the latest in supps as I'm back in the gym after a few years (with DOMS to match), and find a dude getting scientific and some bodybuilders defending meat :p

Any latest info on myostatin inhibition?

Bucketload of creatine should go a relatively unquantified distance. :)

I don't see how creatine helps with either DOMS or myostatin inhibition?

IIRC from the last time I had a gym routine, creatine helped give me a more intense "pump". Perhaps this intensified "pump" creates a larger physical medium allowing more nutrients to transpose to and deposit in the muscles, therefore allowing muscles to repair quicker and alleviating DOMS?
