The New GPU 'Merry Christmas' Thread

Not tried that. The problem is though i have the pc on my desk, close to me. I drink and eat near it. Having the side of the case off is a bad idea. I'll end up sneezing on the motherboard or something lol. I'm pretty happy with the temps/fan profile i have now, but as always its nice to keep tweaking and see what can be done. I think my temps are pretty good considering the fan speed is only 50-60% and my case is not known for its good gpu cooling. If i only had one card my temps would be much lower, but having two Hawaii's in a 600t is not so easy to manage. If the side of my case was a bit further away from the gpu's i think it would help a lot. Regret buying this case and wish id gone for a full tower tbh.

Get a better case and stick in on the floor.

My full tower case almost reaches my desk level :D.

Have you considered trying the PSU the other way up?

You appear to have it drawing air from outside, inverting it will add more exhaust as it will draw from inside the case.

Good shout but tried that already. It did lower the temp of gpu2 a fair bit, but gpu1 remained unaffected. I like my gpu temps to be as close together as possible so i gave up on that idea.

Ok, couple more suggestions, to try to increase airflow.

1. Can you fit a 120mm to 140mm fan shroud (and then fit a 140 fan) on your exhaust fan to increase the exhaust airflow.
2. Can you fit extra fans (push/pull) on your CPU cooler.

Think ive found my perfect stock settings for 290 Pro crossfire. 45 minutes of BF4 and temps peaked at 90C on gpu1 and 86c on gpu2 and stayed there with gpu1 sometimes dropping down to 89c. NO THROTTLING!

How do you get these voltage settings to stick? If I set mine to your values, when I click 'apply' they change to something completely different!

There is a bug so that when you click apply after setting the voltage and aux voltage the voltage level drops by 0.006v. To get around this set three notches above your desired voltage. Click apply. Then click save and save it to profile 1. Now set up a stock clocks and stock voltage to profile 2. Load profile 2, apply. Now load profile one, you should have the correct voltage. Thats how i do it. Once you've done this the first time the correct voltage will be set once you apply profile 1. This bug is fixed in Beta 18 of afterburner due any day now.

Thanks, but when I click 'apply' after loading profile 1 the voltages change :/

Perhaps it's worth waiting for beta 18 before spending too much time working around this bug. Thanks for testing out the voltages and letting us know your results :)

Yeah maybe i didn't explain it very well but it is possible to get working. In a couple of days beta 18 will be here though so probably worth waiting.
