Walcott is not a big miss for England IMHO.
What we need is Zaha to be loaned out, or given a chance at Man U. Watching continental football this season, power and pace are dominating. Theo only has one of those attributes.
Anyway this isn't the World Cup thread.
Newcastle are reportedly looking at Gomis again, contract up in the summer, but we tend to pay ~£1m in January so we can have them for 4-5 months! Apparently his agent fees are the only concern for Newcastle. Gomis himself is very keen on the move with Sissoko and Gouffran close friends of his. He won't score us 20+ goals a season, but he can certainly be our "lukaku" esc target man, he's of similar build. It has worked with Shola and Remy up top, but Gomis is a bit quicker and more agile, and a better finisher than Shola. So hopefully we can do the deal.
Other news, Harry has put a price tag on Remy, stating his worth has doubled since they signed him for £8m a year ago. There's no way Cashley will pay £15m for Remy, he's good, but that's not our game at all!!
Lastly another target is Luuk De Jong, who is another player that turned us down not that along ago, and has failed at his current club (seems to be a current theme). I don't want to see this deal done to be honest, his stats are shocking, and he's not physical enough to be a lone striker, nor enough of a poacher to be a true striker in a 4-4-2 formation.
