What film did you watch last night?

Captain Phillips - 8/10

A brilliant film with a great performance from Hanks at the end, I can't believe he got snubbed at the Oscars this year.

American Hustle - 4/10
Really don't know what all the hype is about.

Her - 8/10
Brilliant film. Phoenix is fantastic, Johansson's voice is genuinely attractive, great concept. I just didn't like
the whole premise of the film as my only negative point. Super clever AIs that can develop even more clever AIs, then ascend to a higher plane of calculating existence. Hmmm. Sounds like it needed beta testing.

Wolf of Wall Street - 8.5/10
How Leo hasn't won an oscar yet is beyond me, and unfortunately, he's up against incredible competition this time around yet again. Fantastic film, funny, shocking, lots of swearing, very enjoyable

The Wolverine.

7/10 - It was good until it got further to the end and he was fighting what appeared to be an enormous adimantium robot.

I'm about to watch Riddick.

after the second xmen got kinda lost with all the wolverine movies lol, think I'll have to have a catch up sometime soon!

Wolf of wall street. 8.7/10

Didn't feel anywhere near the 3 hours that it was, entertaining from start to finish. For me the Oscar should be his, although I'm yet to see Dallas buyers club.

Think a trip to the cinema to watch Wolf of Wall st this weekend is order. Love Scorsese, with Goodfellas being 1 of my top 3 films of all time.

About Time

Watched after some good reviews here. Very charming film that doesn't quite follow the route I expected.

I expected him to really **** things up with his lovely GF by jumping back in time to the blonde girl and getting with her and then the inevitable break down of his relationship with nice girl and him messing the whole thing up.

Quite refreshingly that didn't happen. It was an enjoyable film and one I recommend.

7.5/10

American Hustle - 4/10

If you notice, a lot of people who rated this movie highly have stated that they find J.Lawrence attractive and have stated that they are giving extra marks for her.

Perhaps some people are looking at this movie as a porno? Not sure.

Of course, lets not forget that people do watch movies because they "fancy" an actor/actress. This is quite common and explains why Hollywood aims for women to be thin/attractive - ie. because it sells and that's what people want.

I'll bet that's why it's tipped for big things at the Oscars as well

Cocaine Cowboys - 8/10

Found this documentary on netflix last night, absolutely fascinating! There were a lot of things that went on in Miami in the late 70's/early 80's that I had no idea about, really interesting watch!

Wolf of Wall Street = 9/10!
Loved every minute of it, Leo of course gives a phenomenal performance and will once again be snubbed at the Oscars.

I give it a high rating with or without J.Law, sure sex sells and rarely does any harm. I just don't see much merit in a lot of the criticism people keep dredging up regarding this particular film. Now sure, movies are a subjective medium so nothing meets everyone's taste, you can't please everyone I guess.

Lone Survivor - 7/10. It's a good film but the book far surpasses it. Both in depth but also in explaining the background to things/decisions.

It is no wonder that Luttrell has such a dislike of the 'liberal' media though.
