I'm tempted for Witcher 3, though I'll wait to see how demanding it is. BF4 isn't demanding enough for a second card in my opinion.

Mine occasionally after a crash from an unstable clock would sit at core speed 872mhz even in Windows 2D on desktop. I found enabling K-boost (force boost clocks and voltage all the time) then disabling it after worked to get the card back to scaling down when not needed. I had never used K-boost before. Also tried using the Adaptive setting under Power on the Nvidia Control panel 3D settings (where you can force AA and set performance or quality) but that didn't help until I did the trick I mentioned above.
 
I'm not using k boost or anything similar. A driver reinstall has fixed it from what I've seen. Both cards drop to 327mhz when idle with both on about 7% utilisation. Big difference from 980mhz each at 51% lol

Glad the driver reinstall worked. I was just saying that if you already had EVGA Precision installed you could turn a setting on and off to avoid the reinstall :)
 
The new 334.67 fixed clocks with movie playback for me. Card would keep max mem clock during movie playback VLC etc..

Very nice drivers, performance and seem stable. Clock fix is very welcome !

I think there's an issue with my card. (780ti classified)

Would it be a valid reason to return the card if only in 2 games the graphics driver resets at stock clocks/volts? (1020Mhz/0.9-1.187v)
Namely in Neverwinter and Tomb Raider (although far less often in TR).

In Neverwinter if I pump more voltage (1.21v) and keep stock clocks it hasn't crashed for the past 20-30 mins...

I knew it was bad when I saw 59% ASIC Quality but it wasn't enogh reason to return so long as it worked at default clocks and voltages... seems it is so bad it needs more than default volts...

However it works in many other games no problem. (passes Heaven/Valley/BF4 no issues).

ps~ wots up with 780ti classified versus the standard 780 classified. the standards have nose dived :(

You're right mate, just with modded inf file so can install. Thanks for that as I'm using 331.65 as these seem the most stable for me but I'm looking forward to these newer desktop drivers :)

If you're gaming @ 1440P, the 2600K won't be a bottleneck, as tbh anything past 1080P all the strain is on the GPU.

I would get an extra Ti now and see how it performs. You might be surprised.

Also if you haven't already you could try un-parking your cores for a lil more performance. See thread here - http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18576413

Is there a ips/g-sync monitor?

Yes booms mate... I stumbled across this BF4 fix last weekend & when I ran the unpark cpu utility sure enough I had 3 cores parked up. tbh I had given up on BF4 & found it totally frustrating "lag/shudder & massive frame drops" - now with the cores un-parked it's like a new game I would go as far to say 90% fixed.

Agreed, un-parking really makes night and day difference, BF4, Ghosts and Crysis 3 are like new games on my PC with un-park fix.

If you're at 1080P I would stick with the single GTX 780Ti, if/when you upgrade to 1440P then consider adding another GPU. Maxwell cards will be out later this year as well, a single GTX 880 will likely run all games @ 1080P no problems, might be worth sticking with what you have and putting some funds aside for the new tech towards the end of the year..
 
I just wanted to say THANKS boomstick777 for the cores fix!, so smooth now ;-) sent my 280x's back after 3 days trying to get xfire and other things working, gave up in the end and bought the 780Ti msi on offer.

What a beast this card is! 1225 on air!!! cool and quiet as well. Not a fanboy, but why did i ever leave Nvidea? Had nothing but agro with the 7970's and 280x's.

Job done ;-) 1600p ultra on bf4 and no stutter!
 
Just joined the club :-) Bought a MSI 780ti Gamer to replace my 580. Although I was a little sad not to get the awesome looking GTX Titan cooler, after using the MSI Twin Frozr for a couple of hours I am gobsmacked at how cool and quiet it runs. Even running stress tests at 1080p I topped out at 72deg with my case fans all on slow and the card fans running at 50% (virtually silent). I was considering having to water cool everything just to get back to reasonable noise levels, but since installing the MSI card, I'm now back to normality. Totally love it.

One question. I'm only running PCIE 2.0 (Intel 2600k CPU) but my ASROCK is capable of PCIE 3.0. Is there a noticeable difference between the two? Is it worth me investing in a later CPU? I don't really want to have to because my 2600k is happily running at 4Ghz and I know it will run quite happily (although hotter) at 4.5 and possibly beyond with WC.
