whats the sweet spot for Overclocking these cards? i have the MSI reference Ti

MjFrosty told me back on page 12 or 13 to try EVGA Precision with +100mhz core, +300mhz mem, 106% voltage slider, 85c temp slider (unlinked). Work up / down from there.

That worked well for me but as I said above my memory is back at stock, with core at +224mhz which is totally stable for me. Custom Fan profile: 30% up to 40c, then same speed % as temp in centigrade up to 75c, then 100% at 85c and above. Stock cooler.

[update 3: my memory remains unstable at +224mhz even with the +75mV overvoltage. Leaving core at 1200mhz (+224) and memory at 7000mhz (stock). Happy with the performance so not disappointed]

I don't even bother increasing the memory, it's already clocked so high @ stock and tbh any small gain wouldn't be worth the possibly instability imho.

Just pushing the core as far as it'll go, broken 1300mhz now, about as high as I want to go on air..

-----------------------------------------------

Is it true that ref 'Titan' style cooler is better for SLI? Reason being all hot air is expelled out the rear of the case?

Unless you have really, really good airflow then that's usually the better choice. You could stick a few side fans on for exhausting though.

yeh i think i will leave the memory.
My classy takes far too much voltage tho.
1.29375v for 1293Mhz,
Any less voltage and still passes Heaven/valley/gaming, but in the tomb raider benchmark (which i use for stability) it is giving minor flickering black lines after a few mins.

dont plan to use these overclocks for 24/7

What can you get at stock volts?

I've got two 120mm intake fans, large exhaust fan at top of the case and Antec 920 120mm push/pull on CPU, do you think this would be optimal for SLI?

My current card despite being a monster runs cool and quiet, not sure how it would cope with another for SLI...

With that airflow I'd personally go with the two reference cards :)
I've been considering it myself, actually. But I don't really need it :p I might just watercool my one card instead.

Sweet, be great if I don't need to make any changes to my setup, this case has been going for well over 5+ years now..

Haven't been this impressed with a GPU since the 7970 launched all that time ago. This thing really is a monster, very tempted to go SLI, to destroy things like BF4, and Witcher 3 etc :p

Just disabled SLI and the clocks returned to normal, then about a minute later, the GPU0 card went to 51% load with full clocks again (other remained idle due to no SLI). What the hell can use 51% of a GPU when the computer is doing literally nothing?
