The Last Of Us

The area where you have to power up the generator had me frustrated for a long time before I sat back and thought through it proper :D

Ellie is now armed and making herself useful. Really liking this. Gotta finish it before the DLC on the 14th!

No no no, There's no need to rush it and the DLC on the 14th is not going anywhere so just take you're time with this game and enjoy it.

Oh I certainly am! Getting lots of exploring time on each new area too. A couple hours each night easily done :)

Downloaded and ready, wondered why it wasn't playing then realised it's not the 14th yet... :o

Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann have both said on Twitter that they'd recommend people avoid reviews in case of any spoilers or indications of what happens. Apparently Polygon broke the embargo earlier and put their review out there (and then removed it).

Web or via PS3? I ordered via the web store. It shows up on the PS3 under download list in PSN > ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT.

Mine should be finished downloading soon.

Frankly rather stunned and a little disappointed that more people aren't talking about this, presumably the next-gen consoles are to blame for that. Shame really.

Yup I feel the same, PS4 and Xbone have taken over people's lives and PS3 has taken the backseat. I imagine this would not have been the case had the PS4 been backwards compatible.

Oh well.

I'm 97% complete in the main game as of last night, I died a lot in the hospital so need to revisit that with fresh eyes this afternoon before going into the DLC. Ellie certainly is one agile and stealthy killer with that knife of hers!

I am actually glad I've not gone into next gen yet. I want to (of course I do) but my head is telling me to wait. PS3 meanwhile is getting a lot of attention and we're both very happy together.

I'll give the DLC a play through this weekend.

From Eurogamer (no spoilers):

Left Behind presents an unexpected duality, contrasting the Ellie with whom we are familiar with one whom we've never met. Ostensibly, it is a snapshot of a pivotal time in Ellie and Riley's friendship that plays out against the backdrop of a post-outbreak world, a world in which quarantine zones and death are everyday considerations and where trips to the mall and carefree teenage frivolity are wholly alien concepts. To pick out any single instance of this juxtaposition would be to deny you the joy of discovery. Suffice to say that exploration is its own reward, and it's as amusing as it is poignant to witness the two friends walk amongst the relics of an opulent past and wonder aloud at the bemusing superficiality of it all.

I cannot wait! I loved the dialogue between Joel and Ellie when they're walking/horsing about the land and Ellie comments on something to Joel's bemusement :p

More of that with Riley by the looks of it!

Sounds excellent. Looks like my download is done so it's time to make a latte, pull the armchair into the centre of the lounge and get it fired up. I plan on really taking my time with this as I did with the main game, mostly because I don't want it to end!

Incidentally, for those of you who haven't yet enjoyed the full game, it's £18 for PS+ subscribers on the PS Store right now. £20 for regulars.
