What film did you watch last night?

Skinwalker Ranch

I like found footage style films and this one has its moments but has a few issues as well.

Still, enjoyable on the most part with some creepy moments. 6/10.

The Last Of The Mohicans 10/10 haven't watched it in years, bought it on blueray. Awesome film with awesome soundtrack, now im just wandering what other films are similar to this.

Whats the transfer like?

Think this needs watching on my 120" screen...Not watched it for years...

Nebraska, 8/10 - Was surprised at first that it was in b&w, but I quickly became used to it and I understood what the director meant when he said that it fitted the tone of the film. It's basically a heart felt story of one mans struggle with old age and his relationship with his son. Bruce Dern put on a good performance, and he definitely kept my attention.

Definitely one to watch if you enjoy a good drama.

The Lego Movie - Everything is awesome! Very well made film that pays tribute to the best toy ever and very funny in parts too. The animation was excellently done (even if it did take a few minutes to get used to) as well as the pieces behaved like Lego, practically no flexing and the attention to detail was exceptional! 5/5
What he said. :p

Top film, daughter and I loved it.

First time watches last night

Fight club - Confooozed!!!

Hunger games - pretty good, would say the fighting wasn't graphic enough, but then I suppose it was children, so couldn't be too bad. Tbh, I found it hard to concentrate with the sheer hotness of the lead character.

True Grit (remake): 9/10.

I have a nostalgic soft spot for westerns having been young when The Virginian was a big thing on B&W TV. So I recorded this without really intending to watch it all. However the young actress's performance pulled me straight into the story and held me there through what turned out to be a surprisingly 'authentic' feeling tale which is -- dare I say -- more satisfying than the John Wayne version.

Escape from Sobibor - decent enough 6/10.

The Hitcher - Rutger Hauer at his finest 7/10.

The Matrix - Very good 8.5 / 10.

The Matrix : Reloaded - As good, if not better than the first 8.5+.

The Matrix : Revolution - Also very good indeed 8.5+.

12 Years a Slave, 10/10.

I came out of the cinema feeling like I had been assaulted, some scenes are literally difficult to watch and made me feel physically uncomfortable, some people actually LEFT a couple of them. For those who have not seen it yet and are considering it, make sure you go in knowing you are not about to be entertained, there is nothing entertaining about 12 Years a Slave.

Summed up very well.

I decided to give this a try after seeing it do so well at recent awards, otherwise tbh probably wouldn't have bothered at all...

It's not very often that a film hits the way this does, I found both me and the wife watching either with our jaws on the floor or just looking at each other and shaking our heads in unison.

It's not entertainment it's certainly not enjoyable.

But we both agreed that it's probably the best film we have seen in a long long time. 10/10

Thor: The Dark World, 5/10 - Enjoyable, but the story was weak. Tom Hiddleston was better in this than he was in the first film, but no where near good enough to carry the film. Natalie Portman was the same as she was in the last one, just kind of there, as in she didn't really bring anything interesting to the table (apart from a pretty face that is). The intern annoyed the **** out of me, he had no purpose being in the film and he was only there for one thing and that predictable and boring and ****. Even though there was much to be desired, it still entertained me for about 3/4 of it so I guess that's something.

12 years a Slave : 7/10

It was very well acted and pretty harrowing to watch, not something I can say I really "enjoyed watching" but I'm glad I've seen it if that makes sense!

Sorry I don't agree.. Yes Sharlto Copley loves his scenery chewing (I was wondering if he has watched the matrix reloaded recently) but the rest of the film was great. I never felt short changed by it in any way or even thought it was remotely weak. Josh Brolin was very convincing and Samuel L Jackson added a bit of maniacal flair. Taken as either a stand alone flick or a remake it was very good.

Coming from someone who hadn't seen the original, I watched this last night. I'd say it was good in it's grittyness, but at the same time was lacking...

Good twists though, so I'd go 5/10 watchable and pretty good but lots of room for improvement.

Saw this last night too, it was interesting to watch but never really amounted to anything.

Also watched Man of Tai Chi, despite it's universal panning I really enjoyed it!

Only a 7!?

mavity, 9/10 - I finally got around to watching it. As far as how good the film looks, it's up there with Sunshine and Oblivion in my opinion. The cinematography was exceptional; the look of the film really drew you in. Sandra Bullock was great, although lets be honest, she is nothing on Cate Blanchett in Blue Jasmine. Story wise, I wasn't drawn in. The whole thing about how Clooney's character was going for him last voyage just seemed like padding to me.

It was a terrific experience, even though I didn't watch it on a cinema screen, and that is why t gets such a high mark. It was a fantastic display, but I can't help but think about 12 Years a Slave every time I think of this film winning an award. The only ones that I feel it should/could win is cinematography and what ever the award is for incredible effects.

It seems like a whole new way of filmmaking to me, nothing I can think of has this medium.

I won't be picking it up on blu ray, unless it is pretty cheap, but I wouldn't be against watching it again.
