Who do I report this to?

You twit, you aint going to get nothing from the court. Think about it from the dad's perspective. You invited his 15 year old girl back to his house, pedo intentions or not. Even though i think your suspicious as hell. Your lucky u've still got your front teeth let alone a 100 quid taxed off you. Count yourself lucky.
There you have it from old slackjaw himself, you aints gonna have no joy.

He offered to do an emergency fix for a customer who said they needed it done very quickly. He gave them the opportunity to collect it in the quickest way possible, from the place where he was when he fixed it.

Attempting to ruin his life or have him killed is not a reasonable response to that and thinking that it is a reasonable response is not a reasonable perspective. It's a hysterical witch-hunting perspective.

I'd say that the scenario as described by the OP is definitely slander and a serious slander at that. It certainly meets the legal definition of slander. The theft valued at £100 is trivial in comparison.

Well common sense should have kicked in and he should have said to the father "I will repair it at my house if YOU want to pick it up". At no stage at all in any circumstance should anyone be asking a 15 year old girl to come to his house to collect it.

Yes, but failing to take sensible steps to protect yourself doesn't make attacking you a reasonable thing to do. That's obviously blaming the victim.

you need to look at this from an over protective daily mail reading dads point of view

your daughter comes in happy as larry with a story of how the shop couldnt fix her ipad but this lovely boy behind the counter said he could help you . hes her hero. by now you are listening but then she mentions that she can even pick it up from this guys house. it makes you think of all those missing girls you read about inbetween your racist 'banter' at work.

yea this guys an ass but it still has dodgy written all over it... easy mistake to make but lesson learnt i assume.

As an over protective Father, I can't see this as anything but wrong. The OP has messed up. Even if his intentions were purely for good, I would have reacted in a similar fashion to the Girls Father. Sorry but society isn't a safe place and paedophiles are in abundance everywhere and I wouldn't be taking a chance.

You're not sorry, so why say you are?

People like you are part of the reason why society isn't a safe place. There have always been those who will jump at a chance to harm others. The excuse varies from time to time and place to place. Witches, communists, paedophiles, whatever. There's always an excuse for the lynch mob mentality. Of course, the victims are almost always innocent but hey, what does that matter? As long as there's an excuse. Any excuse will do, even if it can't possibly be applicable.

It's borderline theft/civil matter. Depends entirely on full circumstances.

Effectively you are the bailee of the property and therefore in possession of it.The terms of your bailment was the repair of the phone for payment. You were still in possession as bailee, the termination conditions of the bailment had not been met (payment or mutual agreement) and someone else has taken it, dishonestly, and with intention to permanently deprive you of it = Theft

I've yet to inseminate another human, but if I was to and the same situation arose then I would probably think the same as you and be unhappy with the idea of my daughter going to some blokes house who I don't know.

The problem isn't that the father didn't want his daughter going to the OPs house, it's the manner in which he told the OP, through screaming the word 'peado' at him and stealing from him.

Surely you can see the problem with this? Would you have shouted at him in the same way? Surely simply explaining that you're not happy with that due to her age, or just going to pick it up yourself (with or without your daughter) would suffice?

Does the OPs company know he's moonlighting from home with their customers?

How and why does the OP know the girl was 15 if she was a random customer or was this evident only from the father's shouting?

For shame anyone accusing him in jest or otherwise of being guilty of anything.

Regardless of whether it was appropriate or not to have offered to have collected it from him, how anyone here thinks its justifiable to label someone in such a manner is an *******. Plain and simple.

No wonder your society has so many problems when you leave in such fear and hatred..

Op, assuming your story is straight, I would be straight down to the police station today so as to create a record of the incident. Low breed people like this love a bit of drama (and my have I realised there are some low breeds on here),and it'll probably continue.

Getting your story in with the theft now explains the guys words far better now than later.

P.s sounds like this whole shop business is a disaster, leave it and better yourself.

At the shop.
After it was established the shop could not get a part in time I said I can take it on as a personal repair. Have it fixed by she goes away.
that's exactly what I did too

Where exactly can you get a part so quick where your shop couldn't?

I'm pretty sure shops like Ebay are not out of bounds for businesses.

I have two daughters and if you had invited them round to your house to collect the phone after hours, I would probably react the same as the father did. This is not the done thing and very unprofessional.

If you are smart, you will learn from this and not do it again.

I normally wouldn't have felt with a repair from shop (personal or not) from home.
But as I have already said I just had an operation, wouldn't be at the shop and she was pleading with me to have it fixed for yesterday. So i gave her and her father the option to collect it from myself where ever that may be...

shut up you fool, I told him and her that they can collect it from me where ever it may be. Learn to sodding read before you go all keyboard warrior.
You sound like such a prat tbh, jumping to stupid conclusions when you simply can't read the situation.

The bloke knew what he was doing, it seems he planned the entire thing to simply get me in trouble. And get a free repair.

I will take it to court if required, his daughter may be 15 but she knew exactly what the situation was, she cannot be held responsible for her idiotic father. She actually said " I'm very sorry about my dad, he doesn't live with me..."

So any of you foolish people on GD who cannot read... gtfo

My boss only uses his own sourced parts. They come from China.
He refused to purchase it from UK stock to have it here before the 10th of march.
I have a few suppliers I have dealt with over the years that I knew had it in stock so I could have it fast.
I did offer to get the part for the shop.. but boss shut me down.

You didn't give them 'both' the option from the sounds of it, you spoke directly to her and said "you can pick it up...". I would have addressed the father directly and looked him in the eye and told him he can pick it up from my house. However, I personally would not have given out my address details in the first place, and asked them to wait until my return.
