You didn't give them 'both' the option from the sounds of it, you spoke directly to her and said "you can pick it up...". I would have addressed the father directly and looked him in the eye and told him he can pick it up from my house. However, I personally would not have given out my address details in the first place, and asked them to wait until my return.
I gave her the option first, along with a reason why i wouldnt be at the shop for collection.
Her father then called me to ask why it was being done via me personally, I explained the situation and he seemed absolutely fine about it over the phone, even more so when i knocked off £25 for the delay in having it sorted.

I still do my own personal repairs that i get through my own personal advertising.
Mate, your boss sounds like he's got a screw loose. Surely customer satisfaction is a priority? Are you the same guy that said you was fed up with your boss over working conditions and a rubbish wage?
With your knowledge, experience, suppliers and personal client base, you should try and get a business loan and open up a shop next door. Show him how it's done.

The girl came into the shop to get her computer fixed and you decided to do it as a homer - is that not also a tiny bit illegal? (undeclared income, stealing work from owner of business).
I know if i sent any of my employees out to look at a job and they stole the job from me they would be instantly dismissed as a breach of contract.

I didn't STEAL the job, the customer was going to go elsewhere. SO i took it on as a personal job so that at least i would 1. know it was being fixed correctly, and 2. make some money.
Im not getting the time scales of all this either. When did she approach you in the shop to ask for the repair? A few days ago?

7-10 days ago i took it on as a personal repair, Only took so long to fix because my suppliers sent wrong bloody colour!
Now then, is that enough info for people to see where i am comeing from?
Who do i call to report it? 999 seems a bit extreme, would 101 be the better course?
