^^ think your missing the point of the game tbh, The very nature of it is a grind. Wont exactly be good if they just made getting the top tier items easy now would it.

Its supposed to reward people who put in the hours, not the other way around - this is the exact reason why the AH was removed and the exact reason that loot 2.0 has got players in their droves returning to what was effectively a dead game.

Farming over and over again is the whole basis of the game really, farming for loot upgrades, for paragon exp etc. Thats what the game is.

I quite like the whole infernal machine mechanic, it gives another objective to the farming so theres more of a reason to do it. You have to move through all the acts (well 4th act only till you get the plan) so it makes you mix things up too.

Can easily farm a machine in an hour or two, then join a game with at least 2 others with a machine and fight all 3 uber bosses for a chance at a ring :)

Try not to use 1 machine at a time. As its a random chance of which bosses you fight, using 3 machines in one game means you will always get to fight all 3 (as each boss combo can only spawn once per game). This means you have less chance of ending up with loads of one kind of organ and none of the others.

I may be able to help with this on the weekend or something if you want. we just need a few of us with Infernal Machines ready and we can do some bosses.

It is just another random element of luck in a completely luck based game though, D2 was similar, and it's sadly going to be the way all action RPGs with loot work. I had 6 keys of terror and 6 of destruction, yet it took over a day to get 3 keys of hate from that damn Oasis, and then I hear of people having the KW spawn very close or right on top of the waypoint and dropping the key...

Funnily enough, they're usually the people with all the best rolls on the best legendaries that can drop...

Some people say luck isn't even a thing!

Yeah I totally get that, I'm just saying that for me personally, I don't have the time to do that over and over again. I like going through areas of the game, killing everything in sight and seeing what there is after each kill, but my time on the game is limited so I want to be able to do that over farming the same mobs over and over again for what might end up being nothing. I understand the mechanics of the game and that it is all a grind, and I don't have an issue with that per se, I played D2 and loved that but these days, having a family means I don't get to throw much time at the game and I need to balance my playtime accordingly. I am just saying that from my point of view I have more fun going on a few runs for items than I do farming bosses constantly. I wouldn't mind if you could use the Infernal Machine for an unlimited amount of times within say 3 days, that would be a bit better for me. But logging on when you only have about an hour to play, and then spending that looking for the Keywardens and then trying to get the keys to drop means I can only do that in an evening and then I'd have to wait until the next day to then go through the portal to try for the drops.

Thanks for the kind offer Eulogy. Unfortunately as I say, my time is limited and I don't make it on during the day even on weekends, but perhaps I'll look you up one evening over the weekend? I didn't manage to make it into the OcUK clan but my ID is CHokKA#2145.

On my second character now and think I've found the sweet spot for single player - setting to Expert difficulty is just about perfect. On Master I was really struggling, often dying multiple times on a yellow creature (around level 30-40), and on Hard I was just melting through everything with my Monk. On Expert I'm having a challenge, but one that if I pay attention I can get through most fights without dying. Really enjoying the single player as a result since it's much more challenging than breezing through it first time on Normal with my wizard.

To be honest the Hellfire ring isn't really worth it anyway. I've farmed 15 or so machines since the weekend and drops from the bosses, even at t4+ are pretty dreadful (had two spines and two fangs, but no eyes). I only really want one so I can say I have it, and they would be handy for levelling up alts, but its not a necessity.

I'll add you once I'm home tonight Chokka, might be doing some bosses tonight you could join in on.

I'll add you, i've got a couple of machines rotting away in the bank we can use up at some point. HH is also in my friends list so we can try to organise something all together. Brokkah#2761

Awesome, thanks for the replies guys :) I should hopefully be online tonight. I have a friend who has an uber monk and we do the runs together, he tanks very well so he can join up and we can have a go at some drops :)

Yeah I'd love to join you guys all for some uber boss runs sure, having a meal with family tonight though as it's my brothers birthday. If I am not about and you want to do some then don't worry about me go ahead :)

P.S don't make the same mistake I did, I wanted to make a hellfire ring for a wizard I plan to level, but made it on my DH. It rolled int and crit chance, and dex (presumably because I was playing on my DH lol)! :(

My main issue with the account bound drops is that you only have 2 options if you don't want it, sell or salvage. With the auction house disappearing there are a lot of people with a lot of gold and nowhere to spend it. Lets face it the merchants in D3 have some pretty shocking merchandise. I'd like to see legendaries that other people have sold appear with the merchants obviously for an applicable sum of gold to give you something to aim for and something to spend it on.

they're getting rid of the auction house?

oh well... barely used it anywho. literally from the moment it cam out. once some people had uber gear and could farm there was no point as there was already so much of so many items on there that it was pointless even to attempt to sell the stuff I was getting.

but I did and got like £2-5 :p just never got how these guys got so much loot and I'd try and get naff all! :( god damn hippy ******** with no jobs so get to just play all day

Mine did that too. I created it whilst on my Wizard which has high int/vit... Created a Dex based Hellfire Ring and it has rolled with all 3.
Not the end of the world for what I wanted but a bit of a shame that it didn't have a load of attack speed or similar.

Just need to grind up 10 more levels and my Monk will be level 60 having only been started on Sunday afternoon. Sadly I've not got a level adjust weapon so just scraping by with what I have. Have had some nice legendary drops though, Amulet should definitely tide me over to a level 60 and the chestpiece probably will too. Who knows what might drop though!

Ted the Monk
Monks don't seem to heal as well as I remember them doing. So will be going for some decent life on hit going forwards! Wanting him to be a properly tanky character considering the rest of mine are a bit flimsy or atleast pushed in longer fights.

ok maybe a bit of a silly question but do aoe spells stack? for instance.... wondering if when I cast blizzard twice on a location, will it give two damage counts per tick?

I've seen if I cast on the same location it at least refreshes as can freeze mobs on each cast.

They are reworking the blacksmith and also i hear its very expensive to reroll stats on items too.
