'Contact lost' with Malaysia Airlines plane

Primary radar relies on Line Of Sight, so at low altitudes tracking it would be very intermittent

assuming that they flew the corridors leading to central Asia and Turkmenistan for example , they flew over India. 1.2 billion people, a huge country with a respectable military, have they flew at low altitudes nobody heard or saw something?. Small A320/738's fly over the place i live towards LGTS and i can hear them loudly.

anyway i dont know, this story is crazy

This gets more and more bizzare. How did no other country pick this plane up and intercept it? Where has it gone, surely if this was terrorism then a group would have come forward with demands by now? The passengers might still be alive, but held somewhere? The mind boggles.

Passengers and crew now sat with Amelia Earhart in the disappeared with no particular trace section of a mysteries book unless something tangible comes from this satellite information.

Police officers arrived at the home of the captain, 53-year-old Zaharie Ahmad Shah, on Saturday afternoon. A senior police official told Reuters they had gone to take evidence that could help with the investigation.

they went into pilots house after a WEEK??? this should have been done last week, so much incompetency ?

The daily mail is saying it WAS hijacked, but surely if they've tried to land it then it wouldn't be too hard to find. they knew the fuel and flying range, so they can just check for everywhere large enough to land it. Can't really hide it in the desert so really it's got to be somewhere with buildings.

you cant land that sized plane anywhere you want and it it did make it onto some sort of tarmac i.e road then someone would have seen it. Plane ditched into sea and sank end of......

one day some surveying vessel will find it

They know more than they're letting on, information is being drip fed out.

Why has it taken a week for them to tell people certain comms systems were switched off and that they now know which way it headed? It doesn't take a week to find that out, no matter how incompetent the investigation team is - or how incompetent they want you to think they are.

My theory is that plane and it's passengers are safe and well and are being held as hostages. The next time that plane appears it will most likely be under tragic circumstances.

Why would joe public care about a low flying jet. It wasnt missing at that point....

Some people know where that plane is or where it went down. Quite a few people do and they're not letting on. We're taking a massive governmental cover-up and conspiracy here. It's absolutely ludicrous to even consider that it's as far as Kazakhstan, but lo and behold, thats what we're being told to do now.

We'll be looking at ridiculous story after ridiculous story until they hope the whole thing washes away. This went from being front page news to being a small quarter of page 26 in the Evening Standard yesterday. The world will move on and that's exactly what they're hoping for.

No, nobody would. It would be just another plane.

So youre saying negotiations are made with the kidnappers as we speak, hence the secrecy from authorities?

I doubt it, I doubt you could hide and land a plane and have removed everyone mobile phones so no one on board will make an emergency call, anywhere suitable to land a plane would have some form of mobile coverage.

I wonder if Myanmar have shot it down and simply are not saying.
Or the USA for that same potential ending. They were the first to start saying search the Indian Ocean, without telling anything why. Just a search over here where no one has yet thought to look at all.

its not about caring, a 777 flying over you at 3.000 ft (or even less assuming they were avoiding detected from radars) would have turned a few heads, its not something you see day after day.

It wouldn't Ned to fly at 3000 ft, it could be it only needs to fly at 10,000 or more feet.

When I first looked at the map after the suggestion it flew on it was interesting to see how much desert was available to them in the flight radius. It would be fairly easy to land a plane in the desert without people knowing, in many places in one piece. Whether they want the plane or passengers/cargo is another question. Landing in the desert would probably mean the plane wouldn't be useable again.

I tend to agree whether it was because of a terrorist attempt or not..

the chances of the plane being out there, intact, with 200 people sat around being fed and watered by terrorists while none of them got a help text off in the hours stated make me dubious. .

Why can't they just say, "we know where it is and we're not going to tell you." Why can't they just say that? Then we could all cease this ridiculous speculation and everyone could go home.
