CS:GO Discussion

If you've come from CoD the aug/sg553 might feel the most "natural" for you to use, but Murray is right, you'll probably want to get used to the AK47/M4A4.

The most natural would be a controller in my hands, but I'm slowly getting to grips with using pc for gaming. I know it will be worth it in the end.
Will try those guns next

How do they rank you once you win 10 matches, do they look at K/D, W/L or something else? So far I have won 9, draw 1, lost 5.

If its a nintendo duck hunt light gun, not much will stop him

MVP perhaps and more then anything matches won. I got to next rank in 3 matches, I got an occasional round win but my team did well each time and thats it mostly (I didnt personally deserve the rank up).
In theory it counts kill streaks and hs but I dont think this ranks up people in the majority

Im sticking to my theory, it'll throw you easy and hard games and I think its alternatively. If you just keep on winning rounds thats all it is, defuse or blow the bomb without a kill Im sure its still good.
Smoke, decoy and rushing the hostage can work surprising well also

I use low res because everything is bigger and i find it easier to aim.
I read its not true, because it scales. Not sure.
Okay after reading up a bit more on latest updates, it is just "shader detail" which needs to be set to low. The rest can stay on high.

So as above, get an AWP zoom in then move the scope and walk scoped in with the setting on high, then do the same with the setting on low. It removes the fog/blur.
Ill check it out.
Well I have a long road ahead of me :P

I started as a Silver IV. Now I am Gold Nova Master. That is after 130 wins though :p

I don't know if its true or not but it feels better for me, I play a lot better with it and I don't think relearning in a different res is very important :p

I tested it out now. it does reduce the fog and all that, and it might help a bit. I'll leave it off, less stress on system.

Also, something to note, don't limit your fps. When I limit my fps to 64/65/129 I played TERRIBLE. My bullets didn't register. I don't know why. I know it doesn't make sense, but that's what it was for me (I have a 60Hz monitor, and I was playing on official MM servers, 64 tick)

EDIT: Also, my sensitivity is xcnsidered high, but I like it. Its actually a tick lower than I want it.

Razer Deathadder (old) at 3500 dpi, 6/11 windows speed, CS GO sensitivity is 1.

400dpi 6/11 1.7 Mionix Naos 7000 here.

Try and keep your dpi lowish (and windows definitely 6/11) since this allegedly gives better response from prediction algorithms for movement/aim/bullet reg etc.

NikMic, maybe you could try lower sens on the DA software, and upping your CSGO sens to compensate, you may find you get slightly better reg :)

I had a game earlier, and I did quite well, hopefully getting used to it. I opened my first crate and also one a phoenix crate. I can't see how to use the skin in a game.
Also how many and how often do you open crates?

If anyone is old skool enough to remember NiP/SK-Gaming potti, I have followed his tip for setting mouse sensitivity as this was a way to guarantee a consistent/quick setup when playing on LAN.

He makes one swipe of the mouse 180 degrees in game. This is also great for testing if mouse acceleration is on as it should not matter if you do that swipe fast or slow it should always be 180 degrees.

Hi all,

Just getting back into PC gaming and loved CS:S when I used to play. Is there any point in buying that again or should I just get this? Is it much different from the older versions?

Cheers!

Go in your inventory, click on the skin, and press Replace T/CT/Both.

I never opened a case. I'd much rather spend the money on guns I really want (never bought a gun either). yes I know I can get lucky and get a very expensive item, but then again, the chanes are very small.

Well, its different, but at the same time, its not. You have a lot of new things.
- 5 game modes total, 2 new (deathmatch, casual, competitive, demolition, arms race)
- Official matchmaking for those game modes
- The ability to add stickers/skins to your guns
- New maps (Operation Bravo, Payback)
- Some new guns
- New crosshair style
- Skill groups
- Drops

Thats all I can think of. You still have the 'old' community servers and stuff, but imo, official matchmaking is better.
