Logitech G502 Proteus Core tunable 12,000 dpi gaming mouse

well it's about £65 getting it in from Amazon uSA which will probably be the same price as UK. 8-14 days delivery estimate. If there is any news that OCUK will get some next week and depending on price I'll wait. Otherwise I might aswell import it.

I live in Northern Ireland, so my charges are probably going to be different to that of mainland-UK - but here's what i'm getting:

Newegg:
Import Fee: £11.31
Shipping: £10.86

Amazon.com:
Import Fee: £10.93
Shipping: £5.19

Amazon.com is cheaper obviously, but that's still an extra £16 over something i'd get from Amazon.co.uk :( But then maybe the mouse itself will be more expensive here when it's released, like computer hardware usually is.

You are right about it probably ending up the same price, but amazon don't send haribo's with computer hardware like ocuk!

Pre-ordered from Logitech direct. I had some old discount loyalty codes lying around which I had not redeemed and to my surprise they worked.

I did refresh cookies and try using the same code again but it showed as invalid, otherwise I would have trusted you the code.

Anyway bagged it for £48.45, which is a bit of a bargain! :D

Now to play the waiting game. :(

edit LOGITECHUK-1050 (£10 off when you spend £50 or more) code works. Code taken from HUKDs which will bring the mouse down to £60.

Have they not e-mailed you with an expected delivery date?

Tell us what it's like when it gets here.
My mouse is really getting worn now and could use replacing.

Will do, but there is a massive thread on OCN if you want to have a look.

Nothing yet. Someone on Logitech UK did enquire yesterday and CS had no idea when they'd be getting stock or could give an exact release date.

I did ask Logitech UK of Twitter and never had a response. It seems everyone is in the dark.

Seeing as they're now in stock, just ordered mine.

Something to look forward to and hopefully a good replacement for my current ageing MX518.

Much taller than a G700s, so probably more suited for claw grip users.

Does anybody have a g9x as well as one of these? I'd be interested to see what they look like side-by-side (or end-to-end in profile).

Early impressions

Pros

- Sensor tracking is impeccable
- All button actuations are great and have perfect weight (not too light nor heavy to press)
- Rubberised sides are comfortable
- Hyperscroll wheel works well, but then I don't think I will ever need this for gaming. If it means removing the function to save weight then I think gamers would prefer this and then it would make sense to use the additional weights.
- Braiding is of good quality

Subjective:
- I find the weight perfect without adding any of the additional weights.
- The mouse has a nice balance, it is however, slightly top heavy.

Cons:

- Cannot re-map up and down scroll wheel
- The G Blue light is too ****ing bright. (I know you can turn it off but I wish you could at least dim it down)

Subjective:
- Scroll wheel is too heavy
- Scroll wheel is "notchy"
- For my fingertip/palm hybrid grip I find the sniper button is out of thumb's reach.
- Braided cable is heavy, you'll need a bungee, mouse weight or eye/hook to prevent dragging.
- Compared to the G700s I find the G502 doesn't mould into my hand to offer effortless control and movement

Going forward now that this sensor has been released I think it's a matter of time before it is introduced into the other G Series mice ranges. So if I cannot adjust to this mouse I will just pray and hope that they release a G700s with this sensor and sort out some of the criticisms raised. I've yet to try the mouse out on different surfaces, so I will see how it performs.

Had mine delivered today.

As lazy as it sounds, Majnu hit the nail almost on the head in my eyes. Only things i'd disagree on is the G Blue light brightness, seems fine by me, and I haven't noticed the need for bungee in case of dragging. Also, i've never owned a G700 so I don't know how that feels in comparison. Like Majnu I also found the thumb button just out of reach but my hands aren't exactly big, so this may not be too much of a problem for many people.

One thing I'd say is putting the weights in makes it feel extremely heavy and my recommendation would be don't bother. I use an aluminium surface which it glides across, with the weights the mouse started to resist on the surface and scratch across it, but obviously this is different for each person. Also I was caught out by how strong the magnet is inside the mouse as I found the small screw driver I was using to pop the weights in and out with stuck to the mouse.

Overall, Majnu has it pretty correct. I found the mouse is by far the smoothest mouse i've ever used. As well as the software is pretty damn nice, which it also incorporated my Logitech G35 headset into it as well. The mouse feels very sturdy and to me doesn't feel cheap. The mouse wheel, pressing it down is a bit on the heavy side but I wouldn't gripe about it from my standpoint but i'd definitely agree that the mouse is too "notchy", which it could do with being smoother on the scrolling.

Can't wait to buckle down and give it a good go at some gaming.

I got mine from the Logitech GB site. Ordered it on Saturday just after people were reporting them being shipped on the day before. Went to the site and it didn't say out of stock so I thought bugger it i'll have ago and it was delivered today.
