So, let's go :
Allright info on the graphics
- The gifs look great but the actual game is lacking graphically.
- The daytime looks crossgen on both versions.
- Nighttime and dusk look amazeballs!! Especially when you're taking it all in while sailing on the water.(Did I mention that the water looks incredible)
- Xbone has screen tearing and rumble triggers ( i read on GAF that Xbone version also has problems with framedrops ).
- PS4 version has less jaggies than the Xbone version but still jagged.
- Please note this the beta with the unfinished graphics!
A little later :
full impressions of the ps4 beta
- Framerate is solid. Haven't encountered any areas where there's any drops at all. No screen tearing either.
- The aliasing is pretty bad, but again this could be due to the downgraded beta.
- Some areas look fantastic, others not so much. In some areas the textures look flat. Again tho, could be due to the fact its the beta. Overall tho the game looks really good.
- Being hunted by the police chopper at night as it's scanning with its search light is damn impressive. Police chases are a lot of fun. If you time your hack correct ( changing traffic lights, activating security bollards etc ) the camera will switch to a slow mo shot of the cops as they crash and burn. The overall AI of the cops seems really good.
- The pedestrians of Chicago are quite abundant too. There's lots more people walking the streets than there is in GTAV for instance. One of the early tutorials has you trying to find a hacker who has hacked into your phone. It leads you too a small open park type area and there was at least 50+ NPCs wandering around. But yeah the city seems "alive" I guess.
- One of the multiplayer modes ( 1 v 1 ) has you hack into a rivals phone and initiate a backdoor exploit. Once you do this, the rival will know he's being hacked and will try to hunt you down and kill you before the exploit succeeds ( hits 100% ). You cannot kill them or it's a mission fail. All of this takes place in a radius from the person your hacking, which you cannot leave or you'll lose the signal. The area radius gets smaller the longer you keep the hack going for, so you've got to be careful and keep out of sight of the person your hacking. If your spotted a chase will ensue with you trying to get as much distance between yourself and your rival so as not to be shot dead.
- There's no in game music unless your in a vehicle from what I can tell. I wasn't keen on the music so I turned it off.
Digital Foundry test will be interesting. If the PS4 version has rock solid framerate i hope that in the near future for 1080p patch just like for AC IV.
