Watch Dogs

bare in mind those GIF's are low res and been compressed, etc. I think it looks really good.

I still think it will take another 2 years before we can see the full potential of the PS4 and only with exclusives TBH, these cross platform games won't be optimised for the PS4 like exclusives from naughty dog will be.

Same for the Xbox One, surely?

why is it a no no?

just post a link if your scared. not like the completely stupid one above. i've already used google and neogaf forums look like a maze with absolutely zero sections.

Not scared you lacked the word "please" and all the information to your questions are answered in my post! Neogaf is a piece of **** to navigate around.

ew hope they sort that out... screen tear is the worst! Does it effect the PS4 version too?

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=820084

This bit got removed but this BETA tester on the Ps4 version said

So, let's go :

Allright info on the graphics

- The gifs look great but the actual game is lacking graphically.

- The daytime looks crossgen on both versions.

- Nighttime and dusk look amazeballs!! Especially when you're taking it all in while sailing on the water.(Did I mention that the water looks incredible)

- Xbone has screen tearing and rumble triggers ( i read on GAF that Xbone version also has problems with framedrops ).

- PS4 version has less jaggies than the Xbone version but still jagged.

- Please note this the beta with the unfinished graphics!

A little later :

full impressions of the ps4 beta

- Framerate is solid. Haven't encountered any areas where there's any drops at all. No screen tearing either.

- The aliasing is pretty bad, but again this could be due to the downgraded beta.

- Some areas look fantastic, others not so much. In some areas the textures look flat. Again tho, could be due to the fact its the beta. Overall tho the game looks really good.

- Being hunted by the police chopper at night as it's scanning with its search light is damn impressive. Police chases are a lot of fun. If you time your hack correct ( changing traffic lights, activating security bollards etc ) the camera will switch to a slow mo shot of the cops as they crash and burn. The overall AI of the cops seems really good.

- The pedestrians of Chicago are quite abundant too. There's lots more people walking the streets than there is in GTAV for instance. One of the early tutorials has you trying to find a hacker who has hacked into your phone. It leads you too a small open park type area and there was at least 50+ NPCs wandering around. But yeah the city seems "alive" I guess.

- One of the multiplayer modes ( 1 v 1 ) has you hack into a rivals phone and initiate a backdoor exploit. Once you do this, the rival will know he's being hacked and will try to hunt you down and kill you before the exploit succeeds ( hits 100% ). You cannot kill them or it's a mission fail. All of this takes place in a radius from the person your hacking, which you cannot leave or you'll lose the signal. The area radius gets smaller the longer you keep the hack going for, so you've got to be careful and keep out of sight of the person your hacking. If your spotted a chase will ensue with you trying to get as much distance between yourself and your rival so as not to be shot dead.

- There's no in game music unless your in a vehicle from what I can tell. I wasn't keen on the music so I turned it off.

Digital Foundry test will be interesting. If the PS4 version has rock solid framerate i hope that in the near future for 1080p patch just like for AC IV.

So no, screen tearing for Ps4 not present, and thank you. I agree screen tearing does ruin a game IMO

Well I hope for the Xbox owners' sakes that they sort that out... screen tear is so jarring that it often completely ruins a game. Ill wait with reviews before taking the plunge on the game anyway... this one seems increasingly like a risky buy what with all the secrecy and no reviews yet.

Part of being a Ps3 owner at one time, getting used to screen tearing. I never could, and moaned about it constantly. It always miffed me that games over on the 360 that cost the same had a more consistent frame rate which is the reason I only really purchased exclusives on Ps3 - which then had some of those exclusives screen tear as well - heavy rain I'm looking at you on that one.

So, yes, I hope that x1 owners do not have screen tearing as it really does ruin the game.

Cant wait for my pre-order watchdogs / ps4 bundle to arrive :) Would have had the ps4 by know but for the delay . But on saying that, I can't think of another game I want atm . thank god I god loads of ps3 ps+ I haven't played yet

More leaked gameplay footage starting to surface now...

Spoiler: I dont think there is any 'story', just gameplay but just warning you.

First review.

This is pretty crappy..

One huge caveat/punishment Ubisoft implemented is when you do turn off the Online Option, all your skills accumulated are reset to zero. You read that right. They all get reset to zero. All the online-specific skills reset to zero as punishment for not wanting to play online, something which is entirely disappointing. Either you keep getting invaded, or you get punished for wanting to play sometimes and not other times with the online mode.

best thing to do is turn it off when you first start the game and then play through single player.

when your ready to start playing online after completing the game turn it on.

Disappointed that the review embargo doesn't lift until the day the game is released, and no doubt they'll be doing it according to US time meaning the game will be out in the UK before reviews are even available. Very troubling.
