What book are you reading...

Second of Ian Rankin's Rebus books "Hide and Seek"
almost through that, enjoying the writing more than I thought I would.
Came onto this straight after finishing the first in the series, purely because I was on a flight:)
Hope the series stays decent.

Just finished Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson, loved every page and found it hard to put down.

Straight into the 2nd book in the series tonight Words of Radiance.. Both over a 1000 pages long so makes for a good long deep read..

Just finished Brandon Sanderson's 'Words of Radiance'.

IMO, as good as 'Way of Kings'. The last ten percent was awesome, could hardly put it down. Unfortunately, a loooong wait for book 3. Might give his Mistborn series ago. Anyone tried them?

Now I'm reading 'Sand' by Hugh Howey. Loved his 'Wool' books so have high hopes. It'll be like reading a pamphlet after the epic Stormlight books :)

Put a :D on my face...apart from the long wait for book 3 of course :(

Thanks for the heads-up! Absolutely loved the 'Wool' trilogy (really hoping for a film adaptation), didn't know he'd got something new coming out. Have you got the e-book? Just checked online and the physical copy isn't out yet.

Apparently, Ridley Scott has started casting for it! While reading the book I saw Anna Torv (from Fringe) as Jules :)

Yep, it's on my Kindle.

Yeah Mistborn is worth a read :)

The Legion by Simon Scarrow, this is the most page turning book I've read of his...or maybe I'm just used to the writing style by now.

I just started book 1 of The Dresden Files, lets hope its good :)

I've just started book 15. I think it's a cracking series and I read once that Jim Butcher said he has the whole thing planned and it will take 22 books to finish it.

I thought he said 23 books (the quote I remember it was something like "20 normal books, then an apocalyptic trilogy to finish, because who doesn't like apocalyptic trilogies?"). And all I'd say for the guy starting book 1 is keep with it, the first couple of books have some rough edges, by the third and the first pieces of the larger plot moving into place you'll know if it's for you or not.

And about a third of the way through the new book myself, considering an all nighter to finish it now.

Amazing series, I was really reluctant to try it but ended up reading the whole series to date in about 6 weeks :p

At times it can be a little threat of the week-esque but he manages to keep it fresh and the character development is extremely impressive the only bit that annoys me is (I'll put it in spoilers though it isn't an actual story point)

now he is so much more powerful his enemies are too so he's still fighting against the odds. I just want to see him open up once on some powerful enemy and completely mop the floor with them in true alpha style :D

Might have been 23 it was a while ago. I am about 40% through and I will definitely finish it by weekend end.
