Yes we all have, many many times. This is a very old argument
The first term (97-01) was solely due to Kenneth Clarke's handling and he one of the best we ever had. The Labour party decided to stick to that plan at least until the next election. 2001-2008 was an artificial bubble and was done by pumping borrowed money hand over fist, but everyone was happy so they ignored the warning signs again and again. Gordon Brown was an arrogant fool declaring the end of boom and bust, he was so sure of himself that he sold off our gold without thought.
All this is very well known and I'm actually very surprised at you making this basic erroneous statement, i expected better from you with your track record

Good luck with that. Considering UKIP has never won a single seat in Parliament, what's their strategy for beating senior Tories?
I'm also curious to know how Farage plans to lift the party's national polling from 3.1% to... well, anything better than that would be a good start.
Are you suggesting the Conservatives would have done differently (which is implied by the suggestion the economy was mismanaged - ie, worse than any of the alternatives).
I'm not saying they were good or even fantastic by any measure, just that our economic prosperity isn't really linked to the politicians in charge at the time. Regarding the point about pumping borrowed money - you are aware this has been the policy for both the main political parties for quite some time.
The only real difference between The Conservatives & New Labour are slight shifts between favouring corporate or personal welfare - there economic policies are pretty much the same on many of the rest.
You are basically judging history with the benefit of hindsight.
A level of maturity & decorum usually absent in this forum - props to you sir, perhaps as you say more for another thread.

Humour me, what are your thoughts on the Israel/Palestine thing? Which side do you think should just grown up and put the kettle on?
on a roughly 30% turnout on a european election where for starters most people (demonstrably most) don't care and of those that care I'd argue many don't understand what's at stake.
So 30% of 30%.. basically 10% of the population for en election covering their raison d'etre.

The Lib Dems won 7% of 34%, so 2.4% of the vote.
Last time they won 14% of 34% so 5.8% of the vote.
Good performance, enough to get in a coalition.
They won 27.5% in a European election election with a hilariously low turnout. They won 3.1% in the last UK general election, and they have never won a seat in the UK Parliament.
So again: what's their strategy for beating senior Tories and pushing their share of the vote above a humiliating 3.1%?

Look, it has taken hundreds of millions of years of struggle, survival and evolution to get from an amoeba to you. If you want to break that chain, please be my guest. But let's not pretend this is a "game" without winners and losers. Those of us who procreate are on the winning side, those who become evolutionary dead ends are on the losing side.
There is no heaven or hell for you to go onto, when you die that's it. And you'll be leaving nothing behind that matters in this 'game'.
