** ASUS ROG SWIFT G-SYNC 27" 144Hz GAMING MONITOR NOW IN STOCK!! **

1440p 144hz is VERY tempting...

Could I run it with SLI 770's??

You do not need to hit 144FPS same as I do not need to hit my Sony FW900's refresh rate, it the upper limit.

A 780Ti will not be great in a lot of games at 1440p so same for 670/680/770 SLI when SLI works fully.

From the Sniper Elite v2 thread (not the best looking game) :

1440p

1 GPU

1. Score 40.6 CPU 780ti @1316/1965, CPU 4960X @4.7, MjFrosty Link

Just the misconception invented by someone no doubt on a forum that you need to hit 120HZ or 144HZ on the monitors to benefit.

Obv my monitor is going to be smoother and faster than any LCD even if I set to 60HZ and it flickers.

Thought about it for a few seconds as have been watching this but at that price it needed to be a 4K monitor. Will wait for the Acer Gsync 4k.

Oh and I would highly advise anyone buying an Asus monitor to check the other monitor threads for Asus especially regarding extremely bad warranty support!

Not sure why many are all excited about 4k, most will not have the GPU grunt to run it, its at least 2 years away and even then not mainstream as that is still 1080p for most today and a few on 1440p.

There is a reason they are cheap and the 30/60HZ limit.

Only benefit for 4k atm is for TV's which can run at 30hz, but even the there's not many sources for it

I beg to differ Gsync is about making a fluid gaming experience when large drops in frame rates occur. This is most likely to happen at 4k resolution when most cards can't even manage 60fps in the first place.

So gsync is an ideal technology for 4k monitors. Read the gsync reviews and they tell you it starts to work really well at sub 60fps.

4k is still a pipe dream for many, G-Sync does not make low FPS look better it only makes the jump from higher FPS to lower FPS better.

I highly doubt many on 4k get anywhere near 60FPS, try 25-45FPS.

2 Way SLI at least or ideally 3 Way SLI to get decent FPS.

4k is usually just a case of constant low fps which is obviously bad.

G-Sync is useful for drops in fps which solves an annoying, but not pressing issue

as long as it maintains smooth animation if it runs at 30fps I'm not overly concerned. I'm already stuck at 60hz because of an IPS panel.

Each to their own though.

4k won't stay that way though the GPU's are on the move we'll see constant 60fps by 10-12 months from now.

I've had this monitor for 8 years I expect my next one to last the same :-)

The next proper high Nvidia GPU's (20-28nm?) are supposed to be 2015 last I read and they will not be that faster than current 780ti so doubt anything game changing will happen in next 12month.

How much ? Yikes, And it isn't even IPS, Someone at Asus needs to put the massive bag of drugs down and go with a more realistic price, This is just pure greed.

Then peeps around here will cry more about cashcows and milking like they do all the time.

The thing is the ones who do will never even pay the price for a high end GPU.

I need to see some real peeps feedback on these, are they prone to pixel or backlight issue etc etc.

The recent LG releases have been a joke.

That's not true at all!
The other Asus 27" 1440P monitors is actually less in USD than the UK price in GBP at just $440, see for yourself:-

Different regions pay different monies, it has always being the case.

To be fair that is a discounted price.

I can find numerous cases where people sell monitors between $700-$800 and the UK counter parts range from £450-550. Even Dell who likes to charge more than most have some fairly sensible UK costs.

This is £720, I understand this price is not your fault but if you reckon that prices will be between £669.99 - £799.99 that's insane. I was planning on purchasing at least one of these, I wanted 3 honestly, but I cant even justify that price tag for one :/

If this was £620 maybe I buy one. If it was £500-550 maybe I buy 3, at £720 :(
